US About to Hit $15 Trillion in Debt; Sarkozy Asks Obama to Help Europe with Debt Crisis

By Doug Powers  •  November 4, 2011 06:44 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

Put on your hard-hat… the US is fast approaching the latest raised ceiling.

From ABC News:

It will be the latest sobering economic milestone that few were hoping to see: The U.S. national debt – any day now – will soar above the $15 trillion mark.

As of this writing, the total debt is $14.97 trillion, so moving beyond the symbolic $15 trillion is a foregone conclusion. When the unwelcome milestone is reached, it will come at a volatile time both in this country and abroad.

Across the Atlantic, President Obama is in Cannes, France, for the G-20 summit that takes place as Europe is trying to finalize a bailout for debt-ridden Greece.

At the G-20 summit, Sarkozy, fully aware of President Obama’s nearly three-year virtuoso performance when it comes to keeping America’s debt in check, requested a favor:

null

Obama possibly thought Sarkozy was being sarcastic and retaliated by calling Sarkozy ugly… or something.

The jokes are really flying at the G-20.

Something someone with more international experience might know is this: When dealing with people of a different culture, never, ever, EVER try to make jokes, especially in public. What may be riotous humor in your culture might very well be the height of insults in another.

Did I get that right? A Frog asking a Fraud for help fixing a financial tsunami?

The Fraud’s advice: “Um…er…that is…uh, I would sign an Executive Order, telling French winemakers to sell their wines at a more affordable price? It’s not right, nor fair, that they make wines that the average union worker cannot afford to buy. Have you considered levying a 20% Vintner’s Tax on the Wineries? They, obviously, can afford to pay their fair share!”

As you probably know, I’m not a big fan of Odumbo. But really…the French need to grow up and lighten up! They know Obama meant that as a joke. I mean, there are PLENTY of things to critize this POTUS about, but cracking a joke that is popular and done all the time here…does that qualify as something horrible? Rather thin-skinned, don’t you think?

Of course, when the joke is on Obama, he can get a bit testy too!

If the U.S. gives those folks ONE PENNY, Obama is toast, and he knows it. Can he possibly be so stupid as to actually do it and think he can get away with it? Why yes, yes he can!

He is coming to the APEC conference in Hawaii to tell the Asians how to ruin their economies. MichelleO will be gracing us with her economic wisdom as well. In truth, the Secret Service will have so many streets closed, airspace closed and traffic disrupted on unpredictable schedules that business are closing that week.
