Video: California Democrat Tirelessly Serves Constituents

By Doug Powers  •  December 4, 2011 11:50 AM

**Written by Doug Powers

This past June, Rep. Lynn Woolsey, a California Democrat, announced that she’ll retire when her current term expires at the end of 2012. Obviously she’s already started practicing:

null

What’s a five-letter word for neglecting a responsibility?

From The Blaze:

This truly is one of those “gotcha” moments that will leave people shaking their heads in dismay, and disapproval. Democrat Lynn Woolsey, who reportedly earns $174,000 a year serving her constituents in the U.S. House of Representatives, can be seen below in the following C-SPAN clip, doing a crossword puzzle on the House floor while fellow California Democrat George Miller spoke addressed the topic of union rights on Wednesday.

The backdrop provided by Woolsey offered a fitting symbolic compliment to Miller’s speech on worker productivity, wouldn’t you say?

Of course, this is coming from someone like yourself who posted that Obama’s India trip was $200 million a day – which was later found to be FALSE.

1.6 trillion dollar deficit divided by 365 days in a year = approximatelly 4.4 billion per day.

Mr. Powers was being kind. Obama’s presidency costs 22 times what his trip to India supposedly cost.

    No tax increased.

    No enforcement of Obamacare.

    No budget.

Remember, liberty, propery, life and limb are always in danger when the legislature is in session.

Wait, do we really need a federal government?

Yes! For border enforcement! Oh wait they’re not doing that….

Hmmm….Yes! For the post office! Oh wait, they’re cutting service….

Wait! We need it for all those government agencies…which sit around trying to hurt people….

The putz at the podium is also a piece of work. I met someone who went to school with him and his brother, and he said his classmates generally hated them, because they were bullies…and this guy telling me this was a Democrat.

I don’t care for Miller for other reasons. Besides being a “smart ass,” he is the one who suggested at the end of 2008, that the brilliance of the Democrats would show if they were to pass legislation that would enable Congress to “take possession” of private 401k’s, and manage them. These Democrats have no shame. They will try to identify everything that is not currently taxed, and place a tax on it…for their own spending benefit. Don’t believe me? How about the current attempt to tax internet purchases?

No such thing! Every liberal I know of, masks their true identifying principles using modifiers. No real moderate would have anything to do with the Democrat Party, since it has gone 99% radical.

There are also no such thing as a moderate Republicans. These are RINO’s, that at least have the sense to avoid the fellowship of the radical liberals, although they usually vote with them. True moderates are independents that don’t feel secure with one foot in either camp at the same time.

My point is, if liberals lie/hide/deceive once, they lie/hide/deceive always.

I propose splitting California into two states. The New California would be composed of all the counties, except Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa and Sacramento.

I suspect even the liberal 1%ers in Marin County would go for it if you promised to cut their state income taxes in half (Jerry Brown wants to raise their taxes.)

Here is a county map of the state:

I chose the New York Times map so you can click on the governors race and then click on the bubble map. It shows you how Los Angeles and the Bay Area dominate the will of the rest of the state.

Old California can have the ports, the film industry, the tourism in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

New California would get the coasts, the mountains, the forests, the engery resources and….the water.

Went to the annual Christmas open house at Chick-fil-A Corporate HQ in S Atlanta today. I shook hands again with Truett Cathay, the founder and CEO. (was stunned he remembered my name) 90 years young and still an active CEO, creating new product lines and motivating people.

When you drive up for the open house the corporate officers and managers are out in the parking garage to park you, manning the reception tables to welcome you and make your personal name tag, and all over the facility to help the guests – while the employees, customers, venders and walk in guests are treated like royalty. String quartets and a brass ensemble (with my son playing trumpet ;-) ) in the atrium and lobbies.

Cathy opened his first diner in ’46 after serving with distinction in WWII. First day of business he and his brother grossed $68.57. This year the (still private) corporation cleared $3.5 billion. That’s 64 consecutive years of growth – including almost a billion in annual growth through this recession.

The corporate mission statement is on a brass plaque at the entrance…“to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”

Mr. Cathy and his family, and the kids I’m seeing in our churches are why I still believe in the USA, and why we will survive the present Washingtoon cretin like Ms Woolsey – and will thrive again. Bank on it!

Of course, if the point is for them to talk and have nobody else hear, that’s also known as talking to oneself. Most of us assume when we see someone talking to him/herself on the street that there’s some form of mental illness or deficiency at play. Probably true here, too.

Funny talk about the downsides of moderation coming from a right-wing radical extremist (a.k.a. Tea Party activist) such as yourself. Anyone even slightly less conservative than you must be a “libruhl”.

By the way, how are Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, and Joe Miller doing? Why are your Tea Party candidates for the GOP nomination for President not doing well in polling? San Jacinto valley, in Riverside County.

The problem with that state senators’ proposal to split up the state was that it wasn’t well thought out. He proposed just Southern California, excludng LA.

New California comprising most of the state is more viable economically and politically.

A new state could be divided up into regional groups, with much autonimous local control:
Northern coast & mountains, central valley, Sierra Nevadas, southern coast and Inland Empire. The state government would be fairly small and limited in it’s influence. Contrast to that cesspool of greed, special interests and corruption in Sacramento.

I love driving down the 15 into San Diego.
I despise driving the 10 into Los Angeles.

In 2010, Barbara Boxer won the Senate seat by 1 million votes. That difference wa made up entirely by Los Angeles, San Francisco and Alameda counties. The rest of the state was a draw.

An example of how the rest of the state is messed up by the Old California:
Ontario Airport. It is close, convenient, clean and easy. It is owned by the city of Los Angeles !!??!! and being destroyed at the expense of LAX.
I can fly out of Ontario and be in Vegas in a little over two hours, including security. In that amount of time I would barely make it to the ticket counter at LAX.
I never fly out of LAX.
