Charlotte Occupiers Break Away, Form Offshoot Group

That didn’t take long. I hope they realize this will cost them the chance to help carry the octopus at next year’s Rose Parade:

A day after Occupy Charlotte’s three-month anniversary, nine members of the group announced plans to form a new organization, the People’s Coalition of the Carolinas.

The move came three days after four men were arrested at Old City Hall where Occupy Charlotte has been camping since Oct. 8, a week after it formed. The men were arrested after allegedly setting fire to two American flags that had flanked the OC information desk.

An explanation of the decision:

Remember, that’s the People’s Coalition of the Carolinas. When asking to join, do not confuse that with the Carolina People’s Coalition (language warning):
