William Daley Resigns as White House Chief of Staff

Hot off the wire from the LA Times:

William Daley is stepping down as White House chief of staff and budget director Jack Lew is taking over the President Obama’s team as it heads into a tough election year, senior administration officials say.

Daley gave his letter of resignation to the president in a private meeting in the Oval Office last week, recounting the administration’s successes of his one year on the job and saying it was time for him to return to his hometown of Chicago. Obama plans to announce the change in leadership in a public event Monday afternoon.

Rumor going around the Hill is that other White House officials asked Daley to play the part of the Mad Hatter at this year’s Alice in Wonderland party because Johnny Depp was unavailable, and he got offended.

Mark Knoller on where Daley’s headed from here:

null

Back to Xanadu it is then to be inspired for another painting of what the country will look like if it re-elects Obama.

I have no use for the Chamber of Commerce because the day they let Daley run it, is the day that they told the world that they too were corrupt. Obama has probably usurped Daley as the Chicago Don and Daley must go home and try to keep the younger Daley out of prison for murder.

Yes indeedy, and BankOne as well. But even more sleazy, Clinton put him on the board of FannyMae gearing up Freddie and Fannie to get into the sub-prime market in a BIG way led by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd…

With incentives in place, banks poured billions in loans into poor communities, often “no doc”, “no income”, requiring no money down and no verification of income. Worse still was the cronyism: Fannie and Freddie became home to out-of work-politicians, mostly Clinton Democrats. 384 politicians got big campaign donations from Fannie and Freddie. Over $200 million had been spent on lobbying and political activities. During the 1990′s Fannie and Freddie enjoyed a subsidy of as musch as $182 Billion, most of it going to principals and shareholders, not poor borrowers as claimed.

His daddy and grand daddy would be proud. Capone too!

The father Richard Daley was the gang leader of the Irish Athletic Club. He and his two best buddies use to roam Bridgeport making sure no black person came into the neighborhood. They carried athletic clubs, hence the name.
When Daley became mayor the two friends became the Fire Chief and the Police Chief. They continued their gang operations from City Hall.

It has been obvious that Obama has been replicating the Chicago Democratic Machine created and operated by the Daleys.

Growing up on the south side, knowing how corrupt the police department was and seeing the way Chicagoans accepted the corruption, I can see why Obama feels he can reproduce the same results. No doubt William Daleys role has been to bind the politics with the unions and crony businesses.

He will now work on manufacturing votes, whether they come from the graveyard or via intimidation and extortion. The Irish Athletic Club still exists.

Daley is not the typical liberal who is out to change the United States. If you look at the Daley family and their relationship with Chicago, they thrived on the status quo. You can say that the current fiscal crisis of Chicago can be blamed on the former Mayor Richard Daley, but his motives were to support the current status at all costs. He did not want to fundamentally change the city, just improve it using a terrible fiscal policy and maintain his power. I suggest that William Daley resigned because of a gut check. He was not willing to destroy the country where he grew up for the power he was given. Daley probably didnt want to be a part of destroying the country that has given him a lot of political power.
