    The big donors occupying those skyboxes and being lavished with perks will be the very same big donors partying at the GOP convention. How do I know? Go back to 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996….. It’s a one-party system.

    I have posted the list of top donors for Obama and Romney here a few times over the last few days and the main difference is that they are giving much more money to Obama. The the Dems to vote will vote for Obama because the money is telling them that he is the only one who is “electable”. The Republicans will vote for Romney because the money is telling them that he is the only one who is “electable”. America will vote for Obama because the money is telling us that he is the only one who is “electable”.

    That’s the way it works. Just read these threads. Blacks and Jews always vote for liberal Democrats. And because conservatives are so easily swayed by “electability”, they also always end up voting for liberal Democrats.

    If you plan to hold your nose and vote for a liberal Democrat again this year, stop complaining. It’s not complicated. Stop voting for liberal Democrats! Especially when they run as Republicans!

    Somehow I just don’t see voting for Romney as a step in that direction. Are we willing to risk dying in large numbers like our parents/grandparents were? I doubt it.     HOWEVER, if sites like youtube are going to play the game of deniability regarding illegal material, then they are set up for a suit and there will be more clamouring for government intervention.

    It’s really simple, Stacey—the less repsonsible society is, the more enticing government control seems.

    App stores like iTunes and the Android app store will slowly take away actual “possession” of creative materials. You’ll buy the right to access it, not the right to do with it what you want, like with a CD or 8-track.

    The flip side is situations like Disney, who abuse the copyright system and hold onto the rights to creations nearly a century old.

    Software patents are an offense, an abomination, as they exist today.

    SOPA and PIPA are just natural results of preventive law. Prevent people from pirating rather than punishing them when you catch them pirating.
    Prevent people from texting while driving rather than punishing them when they have/cause an accident.

    That’s BS. That’s totalitarian.

    I’m opposed to SOPA for many reasons, but the number one reason is the camel’s nose. Once we let Congress start regulating the internet in this way, it will be quick, easy steps before they begin censoring the internet.

    Encryption. Do it early, do it often.

    It is very good that the dems are going to spend money in that part of the country, good for Bev, but good for tourism. The thing is, I hear it is not exactly an exciting town. They really owed it to Vegas to go there.
