Jay Carney: Obama Doesn’t Really Spend a Lot of Time Campaigning

It’s Friday afternoon, which means we’re sitting around waiting to see which documents get dumped out a second floor window of the White House before everybody heads off for the weekend. Until that happens, Jay Carney’s taken it upon himself to keep everybody entertained:
WH reporter: “Do you understand the optics when, at the economy event he was on the ground in Orlando for less than three hours, yet he spent roughly seven hours at these four different campaign events. The way this is viewed, you hear from Republicans…”
Jay Carney: “…I would challenge you to look at what the President does on any given week, including this week and many weeks going back, and not come to the conclusion that he spends a relatively small amount of time — at this stage — on campaign events. That’s a simple fact”:
The Press Corps would ask the President himself if he’s spending much time campaigning, but yesterday Obama’s completely non campaign-related photo op at the Magic Kingdom was followed by the four non campaign-related NYC fundraisers the reporter was referring to (one featuring an Al Green impression that by now is probably Chris Matthews’ cell phone ring tone). Those were followed today by another non campaign-related fundrasier, so the press isn’t able to reach him quite yet:

Does this remind anybody of the days when Obama was nominally in the Senate but spent the entire time AWOL while he was out campaigning for President?
It could be argued that Obama has been spending the chief amount of his time and efforts in campaigning for president of the United States since 2006, and perhaps ever since he was a Illinois state senator. He certainly did nothing as a US senator, and it does seem as though there isn’t a day that goes by when he isn’t making a speech someplace. I’ve never seen a more self-serving individual who “served” the public in all my life.
Please don’t pee down my back and tell me it’s raining.
Jay it’s like saying this is the most transparent administration ever or like Holder saying Fast and Furious, I learned about that just a couple of weeks ago.
It’s like one of Ilmc’s links that prove nothing.
It’s like Obama saying he’s not a socialist.

But, it could be said Obama needs four years to recuperate from the stress of the past four years.
Any way you look at it; The U.S. taxpayers would be supporting another extended family on welfare benefits for at least four more years.

And carney has the ‘golden ones’ to say bho isn’t campaigning?

A better question. How much time does he spend campaigning? One day a week? One hour a week?
And why can someone give $35,000 to a campaign just because they ate a box lunch or shook hands with the candidate? I thought there were campaign laws restricting the amount an individual can give a candidate. Who could keep track of all this?
•$2,500 per Election to a Federal candidate — Each primary, runoff, and general election counts as a separate election.
•$30,800 per calendar year to a national party committee — applies separately to a party’s national committee, and House and Senate campaign committee.
•$10,000 per calendar year to state, district & local party committees
•$5,000 per calendar year to state, district & local party committee
Aggregate Total — $117,000 per two-year election cycle as follows:
•$46,200 per two-year cycle to candidates
•$70,800 per two-year cycle to all national party committees and PACs
NOTE: Married couples are considered to be separate individuals with separate contribution limits.

…and a bear doesn’t spend a lot of time taking care of business in the woods. What Obama does spend a lot of time doing is golfing and fund-raising and fund-raising and golfing and lying about whatever topic comes to mind.
Jay’s not the sharpest pencil on the desk, but I can understand why he would say this: Since he’s never seen the crusader-in-chief not campaigning, Jay thinks what he sees Owhistle-stopper doing is actually what the job of the President of the United States is. Jay flunked civics, too.

20 hours per week actively at campaign fundraisers, not including travel time out of 168 available hours in a week = Doesn’t Really Spend a Lot of Time Campaigning.

IMHO, POTUS should not use Air Force One for partisan politics. No one complains because everybody does it. I don’t think anyone should do it.
I realize an incumbant has the right to campaign, and the logistics of security etc. – but considering the present deficit crisis at least put a reasonable limit on it. One trip to Jersey, maybe.

Deputy Chief Judge Michael Maliki denied the WH request that Obumer not show up in court.
Something about not being a natural born citizen which makes Obumer’s name not to be on the March ballot.
This seems to have gotten further than any of the other attempts to make
Obumer a non natural citizen.
Wonder if Maliki has good insurance?

The rest of his 4 hour work day he complains and campaigns usually does both at the same time.
