Where did President Obama go after killing off thousands of Keystone XL pipeline construction and manufacturing jobs? Why, Disney World, of course. Sabotaging work is hard work for Goofy and his pals.
And where’d he head after that? Why, up to Manhattan for more high-priced campaign fundraisers charging up to $38,500 per partier. The business of wining and dining politically connected donors ain’t child’s play, you know.
Obama touted a White House foreign tourism initiative on Thursday with Cinderella’s castle as his backdrop. “America is open for business,” he proclaimed chirpily to the rest of the globe.
Tell that to the Keystone managers in Canada whom Obama and his State Department rebuffed — after years of planning and review — in order to appease militant environmentalists and Hollywood celebs. The Animatronic Divider robotically lambasted Republicans for pushing him to make a decision this week. But Senate and House Democrats issued the sharpest rebukes to White House obstructionism:
“President Obama’s decision on the Keystone XL pipeline is a major setback for the American economy, American workers, and America’s energy independence,” Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., said.
“The rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline permit is a missed opportunity to drastically turn this economy around. This pipeline would have created thousands of new jobs and helped to ensure our energy independence,” Rep. Jason Altmire, D-Pa., lamented.
“This delay is just playing politics with American jobs and American energy security,” Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, pointed out.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle scratched their heads as the job-snuffer-in-chief bolted to Orlando’s fantasyland to promote economic growth. But there’s no more fitting place on Earth for the man whose escapist administration occupies the land of make-believe and no consequences. (Bonus moment: Obama got to shake hands with Mickey Mouse, who infamously turned up on a Florida ACORN voter registration form in 2008. Constituent outreach at its most surreal.)
On the very same day he quashed Keystone, Obama released his first campaign ad of 2012 — hyping his stellar record on energy jobs. It’s Opposite Day at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, 365 days a year. Even more comically, the ad touted his exemplary ethics record by quoting a moldy three-year-old endorsement from left-leaning Politifact. And as bipartisan Capitol Hill outrage over the half-billion-dollar Solyndra solar stimulus bust mounts, Obama had the nerve to sprinkle his inaugural campaign spot with — wait for it — solar panels.
Instead of supporting new infrastructure jobs in America through an energy independence-enhancing project that has bipartisan legislative support on Capitol Hill, the president flew to Disney World to peddle looser visa restrictions in China and Brazil by executive order. He also will expand the Visa Waiver Program (a security loophole-ridden program that was suspended temporarily after the 9/11 terrorist attacks) to speed foreign travel.
In case anyone needs reminding, it was the relentless drive of the tourism industry and kowtowing State Department bureaucrats that led to the Bush-era Visa Express Program, which relaxed visa policies, eliminated in-person consulate interviews and opened the door to the 9/11 hijackers. Brazil is just the latest base for al-Qaida and other Islamic jihadi groups. It does not consider Hezbollah or Hamas terrorist groups, and it disbanded its anti-terrorism force in 2009.
The Visa Waiver Program and other efforts to expedite the tourist visa process also pose continuing security risks because — as the Government Accountability Office itself admitted last year — there is still no comprehensive, systematic way to track the 70 million-plus foreign visitors who enter the country on tourist and other short-term visas. Indeed, half of the nation’s estimated 20 million illegal aliens are visa overstayers.
How many of the new Disney foreign tourists whom Obama is touting as America’s economic salvation will fail to return to their home countries after their Obama World visas expire? We’ll likely never know. And Team Obama doesn’t care.
In his opening campaign ad salvo, Obama accuses his opponents of being “untethered to facts.” But this is an administration that believes lowering visa standards and risking homeland security to pump up Disney foreign tourism is a better path to economic recovery than supporting direct American job creation and enhancing energy security. Like the Disney characters he posed with this week, our cartoonish president is wholly untethered to reality.

Check out David Limbaugh’s “1984″ column from a few weeks ago. He’s already way ahead of both of us.

For those who think Bush’s service was “dodging the draft.”
Would you fly a plane where 33% of them crashed over their service life?
Over Macho Grande? I’ll never be over Macho Grande.
I heard on Fox News this morning that $5B has already been invested in permits, studies, purchases of pipe, etc. by Canadian and American companies in anticipation of the pipeline deal. Thanks again, mr pResident, for not only trying to ruin the American economy, but also our good neighbors to the North.
On the Disneyworld “speechifying” – I’m going to somehow manage to not let HIM ruin my next visit to Disneyworld by recalling the photo above. He is a slimy snake and does not deserve to pass through the gates of such a wonderful place as Disneyworld! But I don’t like the suggestion of walling off EPCOT and leaving him in there – I actually enjoy EPCOT quite a bit but would never visit if he was there!
Can he and his wifey just go away now????
Rush is talking about the brokered convention on his show.
Also, on Ted Cruz, how is he doing against dewhurst? I haven’t heard anything about him in a long time. I just want dear kay gone for good. I don’t think I am all that thrilled about dewhurst.

Hey, the Jackass-In-Chief has been in fantasy land since before he was elected. Absolutely nothing the Jackass-In-Chief said on the campaign trail had any semblence of reality! Jackass-In-Chief believes the Constitution is a fantasy!!! Nothing but lies, and DAMN lies!!!!!

Interesting. Depressing. Unreal.
Not that I doubt but if you had a link or something I’d love to read up on it. The Great Recession has hit that age group the hardest and our young voterz need to know who’s looking out for them!?
MaverickThrowback:
Please go back to my earlier post, #29. Maybe you’ll find the answer there. I’m not sure.
Could you point out anything Romney did that was illegal? No, you can’t. You can’t even claim hypocrisy on Romney’s part, as conservatives don’t like taxes, unlike John “F’n” Kerry and his yacht, or Rangel and his real estate etc., who heap taxes on us, praising the tax system, and then proceed to ILLEGALLY dodge the tax system.
EVERY taxpayer is technically a “tax dodger” when he/she takes a legal deduction. Every day, I see Democrats from Connecticut coming over to MA to avoid the nasty gas taxes in CT. They all vote Dem, but they all hate the taxes they impose. Hypocrites or stupid? I say Romney is neither. Your side cannot do the same.
Thank Bush Clinton Bush Obama for that – one world view. Our standard of living decreases, while the rest of the world’s increases. It’s part of the plan.

The last polling I saw had Cruz well ahead. I don’t think (I certainly hope!) he has anything in his background that’ll pop up at the last minute to hurt him because he’s already been through a few campaigns.

No doubt, BUT… some ‘kid’ that worked at Anaheim in the late 80′s or early 90′s AIN’T the guy/gal that took today’s summer job!
They’re already in their 40′s and have nice wives, homes and JOBS in the suburbs. All things OWS wannabe’s claim they never got a shot at.
Obviously Obama isn’t going to do jack about it, so in this regard their best shot is to hold the GOP contender’s feet to the fire ensuring this gets the kibosh. ( Lots of famous people got their start working at Disney! )
Myxyzptlk? Is that you back from Bizarroworld?
This recent poll shows Dewhurst in the lead, based mainly on name recognition, but this report on straw poll results leans strongly Cruz. Still up in the air. I would suspect that the difference is in who is being polled. Straw polls would more likely reflect actual Republican voters, I think.
I agree. Where we are today didn’t happen over night. It was a progression of ideology that chipped away at us and began probably even before the 1st Bush – but my memory only goes back that far and I witnessed it. Many people see only a snap shot in time – they’re personal experience, ie, the OWS crowd. They have no respect for the older generation who could shed light on why we are where we are today.
Tiny correction. It was designed as an air-to-air interceptor for defense against Russian bombers.
Three amazing folks for 2016!! They just need a bit more experience! I will pray for their safety. If the regressives think they will be a future threat, their lives will be in danger. Rubio is so perfect, I fear for him.
West folded like a card table during the budget debates. He is on my list of GOP incumbents to primary.
Off topic, but Rush said that the Supreme Court just shot down a lower court that re-drew Texas counties to be more “fair” to minorities. The republicans had re-drawn them first, then the regressives came in and re-drew them again, and a lower court proclaimed that would be that! So, it was taken to the SC and now is back to the lines drawn by the republicans! This is another victory, folks, and again bodes well for the healthcare bill being overturned! Sounds like the SC is doing a fair job!
No doubt when the President delivers the State of the Union address, he will have the Supreme Court seating area surrounded by members of the Philadelphia NBPP to remind them he is in charge now.
Okay, so let me see if this makes sense – Newt says he would not obey the Supreme Court if they made “the wrong decision” – um…. who’s to say what’s right and what’s wrong?
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/01/19/gingrich-suggests-he-will-ignore-roe-v-wade/
Why would anyone support this guy?
I guess you have to be a conservative to find this rational acceptable.
Well, he is still a bit green. But one beef I have of him is his style of speaking. He is too deadpan and dispassionate. We need someone who shows enthusiasm and fire in his belly. West is too stiff and disciplined…probably because of his military service.
aaaah, the left does. They’re always telling everyone how to live their lives because “they know better.”
Hey diaperhead, Newt Gingrich is not a conservative!
Misscheryl,
Our “framework of knowledge”.
And it’s such an easily exploited demographic. Even if he or she senses something is wrong with a flood of foreign workers there solely for paycheck purposes.., what the hell can they DO about it?
Hire an atty. off min. wage? Point being, ‘that’ was their parents fight. They FAILED. Of course they didn’t have the internet nor the resources to research these injustices but these young voters do! Hell, they’ve taken exception ( found love under an OWS tarp ) and made issue of everything else?
AmericaFirst may have stumbled on a real traction issue w/ younger voters. Jobs ( like air & s_x ) are “no big deal”, unless you aren’t getting any!
I am hoping the SC will boycott the SOTU speech again. After that unbelievable put-down by Obama, I just wish they would stay away until he is out of office. He is mean and vindictive and could very possibly embarrass them again.
Folks, why in the world do we waste such energy and resources fighting over our Republican candidates when we need to be spending it all fighting against this current “President?” ? There has got to be a better way to vet the contenders while Obama destroys America… This man (I use the term losely) is a nightmare come true.

Just had a friend email me this. O/T but cute.

Yeah, and the Macy’s parade is perfect for the Turkey-in-Chief!
This is his last SOTU speech, God willing! I hope TOTUS decides to go on strike that night.
One thing beyond dispute.

Oh he means like Solyndra. Speaking of Solyndra, has anyone seen the latest on what they are up to?
Why did Obama goes to Disney World?
To see a Mickey Mouse Operation that works.
WTF?? The American people need to hear about that!! Hello? Anybody home?? Couldn’t those be sold to other solar plants?

I was thinking it was so he can shake hands with Mickey while getting a photo taken of it for the record. That way when Mickey votes for Obama in 2012 he can say that he knows Mickey and that Mickey is a registered voter.
Have you seen this bumper sticker idea??
OBAMA OR AMERICA…
YOU CAN’T HAVE BOTH
Did they try to sell them or give them away? If no one wanted the glass tubes, then they might not been so cutting edge. Is there any proof that they work at all?
It has been my experience that a superior quality produce could command a more expensive price if it performed beyond the competition. I think that Solyndra may never have been designed for anything more than a photo shoot prop and a money laundering operation.
Someone needs to get a hold of one of those tubes and check it out!! Dumpster diving anyone?
Thanks for the link.
That was an impressive report for a local affiliate. They did a good job.
The anchor kinda ruined it at the end calling over 8 million dollars in parts “a couple million that didn’t matter” or some such. Granted it wouldn’t get them out of debt, but if the parts were returned to the manufacturer, that would be one less creditor the taxpayers will have to pay back.
Oh, I’m in total agreement. We have been sitting on the couch for the past 50+ years saying, oh well..as long as my life isn’t effected. Little did they, we know our lives are effected as is our kid’s life.
I’m concerned that today, conservatives are looking for a candidate who will do all the work and safeguard our agenda so that we can get back to our couch. Those days are over. We need to take the senate, the WH and retain House if we want to shake things up like we believe they need to be.
I’ll go out on a limb and say the tubes were perfect. A German company made them…
I got my answer…. solyndra purchased the tubes from a german company and still owes that company for the tubes which are being destroyed. It seems that is is indicative of bho’s MO; steal money to build a company which will waste the money, fire employees, destroy products and them stick the taxpayer with the bill. Great model for success.
Breaking news!
Just realized that Inauguration Day is exactly one year from today, January 20, 2013, when Borerack Obitter and MamaBama Munchy will officially be evicted from the WH. So take extra special enjoyment while you ignore Oboring’s final SOTU this Tuesday–last chance, folks.

I once heard someone say that Christians were prone to shoot their wounded. Might say the same about Conservatives.
Anyone see the episode of Hell on Wheels where Cullen Bohannon takes the leather strap to the Swede? And the little pause where he snaps the leather for affect and then lays into the swede again. A fine moment of vengeance and just thunk of that moment as you all visualize ILMC and his ilk being flogged in such a manner — it really does make me smile.

Things are looking so bad for this field of liberal Democrats that the GOP establishment is considering recycling yet another Bush globalist masked as “conservative” (didn’t the try that a few months ago only to be unmasked?. Who next, Jebbie?
Sixty percent of voters would be satisfied with Obama vs Rombama. So they can split the noseholder vote while the rest of us pick a president.
Interesting how more Democrats are satisfied that the rest. Also interesting how so many more independents are unsatisfied than either.
Wake up people. Many of us have moved to the right place and are scaring the establishment. It’s the right time to do the right thing.

Phil has to be satisfied with tiny victories. They’re all he has.
And yet just yesterday you said you’d vote for Santorum in the primary. Guess that makes you a nose-holder too.
Anal exam? Hardly. I was just telling it like I see it. He is a good Congressman, but not a passionate speaker. I’m sure he was a good and brave soldier. I would vote for him in a heartbeat. But passionate speaker he isn’t. Am I wrong?
Monkey pile! You guys are so brain dead. Must really suck.
Phil doesn’t even know who he would vote for! At least he won’t tell us. So, for all we know, he will end up holding his nose too! I know what he says…ad nauseum. But we will never know what he actually does.
So this is what Phil the Pill is reduced to. Cut and paste posts and insults. Now I know he is a liberal troll.
Give it up, Phil. You are incredibly tiresome! No one cares what you have to say any more.
You know, these threads used to be very Tea Party friendly. Now we are treated even worse than Obama supporters.

Those who look on Murdoch as some sort of conservative hero are deluding themselves. He’s just looking to increase his audience size, the same as any other media owner. On the other hand, FBN, for those who can get it, is much, much better than FNC.
No one cares what I think? Apparently you do! You can’t reply to me factually or logically so you swarm to pile on with your personal insults. Pile on! You got nothin’!
So disappointed in this, not surprised. I can’t imagine why Fox is moving in this direction, but it’s obvious they are and that they are distancing themselves from their viewers. I’m convinced.
Yes, indeed. The better FNC got the worse FOX became.
It’s amazing that EVERY TIME a liberal criticizes people that oppose them, they precisely describe themselves. A conservative’s very “stock in trade” is an adherence to reality, to facts, to human nature. While liberals make up the facts to go along with the fantastical narrative in their severely addled brains. Liberalism IS a mental disorder.
OK, 5 year old. Waaah!! Now kick your feet and hold your breath until you turn blue.

HI ALOHA_GUY–#118. Thank you for the correction on the F-102 aircraft mission.
***
Most of the drone aircraft I saw in my career were small fiberglass target planes. Once in a while we got a real Air Force plane modified into a drone–QF-4, etc. And when I saw them up close they were smoked up and burned in bits and pieces after a missile hit.
***
Like the old Navy rule about subs and ships–in the Army missile business there are 2 types of things that fly– missiles and aircraft–aka targets. First seen as a blip or symbol on a radar screen–coming on like a bat out of hell.

Nope. No such chapter exists.

If you truly want to influence people, it may help to read the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Insults and name calling aren’t good methods.
I can agree with your point that you make over and over again about establishing a third party. However, it must be done by aiming at local and Congressional seats first to establish the party. Going for the home run in the Presidential election isn’t going to cut it. Heck, I can’t find many things in life or history where it makes sense to not do the work and build up to the peak as opposed to a peak or nothing method.
If you fielded a team of only power hitters in baseball, you’d lead the league in strikeouts and not win many games. Can they clear the bases? Sure. It helps if someone else is on the bases first.
Or in a method of explanation for 123, your method, as applied to dating, would be a standard of dating supermodels only even though you may only be a burger flipper.
Gotta go step-by-step, not go for broke all-or-nothing. It won’t work in a Presidential campaign, sports, or life.
Since I’m an independent, I’m hardly in the “nose holder” category. Obama must be stopped. I look at the field of R’s and I’m just trying to pick out the best of a sucky crop.
As for going over the cliff, I fear if we slam on the brakes now we’ll still go over. Too much damage has been done. It is only a matter of softening the landing and coming back.
Well Obummer had to stop in at Disney and give credit where credit is due; after all, Mickey and Pals all signed the recall petitions in WI for Governor Walker. Most likely several times!
