Obama and Jan Brewer Have Words on Airport Tarmac; Update: Brewer Book Sales Skyrocket

President Obama went to Arizona Wednesday afternoon, and according to Governor Jan Brewer who met him on the airport tarmac, the Book-Critic-in-Chief took her to task for something she recently published:
He stepped off Air Force One at 3:28 pm and was greeted by Gov. Jan Brewer. She handed him a handwritten letter in an envelope and they spoke intensely for a few minutes. At one point, she pointed her finger at him.
Afterwards, (I) spoke with the governor.
“He was a little disturbed about my book, Scorpions for Breakfast,” Brewer said. “I said to him that I have all the respect in the world for the office of the president. The book is what the book is. I asked him if he read the book. He said he read the excerpt. So.”

It was clear from the moment they greeted one another that this would not be a run-of-the-mill encounter between the president and a local official. At one point, she was pointing her finger at him and at another, they were talking at the same time, seemingly over each other.He appeared to walk away from her while they were still talking, and she confirmed that by saying she didn’t finish her sentence.
When Brewer spoke with your pooler, the AP and an NBC producer for several minutes afterwards, she appeared a bit flustered and taken aback by the conversation. Asked if she was, that’s when Brewer said, “I’ll regroup.”
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal had a similar run-in during the BP Gulf oil spill.
Obama is expected to even both scores in his next book, “Sweat the Petty Stuff.”

Jay Carney will probably be given the opportunity to distort what happened at tomorrow’s White House presser, so we’ll have to wait to get the Obama administration’s version of events.

Mexican violence exceeds Afghanistan violence. It is at terminal state, and I’m sick of the head-in-the-sand attitudes. We were defending this border in 1910 better than we are now.

I’ve been reading for a few years, and I haven’t seen you on here in quite a while. I recall you mentioning Obama placing you and other conservatives in “re-education camps”. That really hasn’t happen, has it?

Related item: The construction workers that were to be working (and paid today) at the new Intel chip fab plant that Obama used as his infomercial prop were forced into an unpaid day off. They were told they were not allowed on the plant premises because the Anointed One deigned to go to Arizona for a campaign stop. The workers cannot recoup the lost wages from any source. He said Obama didn’t even read the note, but threw it into the limo, then went right into his, “I don’t appreciate how I was portrayed in your book” tirade. It seemed as if he was so focused on this issue, nothing else mattered until he vented and chastized Governor Brewer. This man is crazy. Have you EVER heard of a President of the United States acting that way? He is losing his grip. This is way more serious than people think. Is the media still covering for him? YES.
