Biden Prediction: Dems Will Retake House

Sheriff Joe Biden may only half-heartedly believe what he’s saying here. It’s just that word around Capitol Hill is that if you help convince Nancy that her reunion with the Speaker’s gavel is imminent, there’s a good chance she’ll throw a pretty good stock tip your way, so what the heck.

From The Hill:

House Democrats will win the House in November, swinging the gavel back into the hands of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Vice President Joe Biden predicted Friday.

“Nancy, I think, is not going to be remembered just for being the first woman Speaker,” Biden said, “she’s going to remembered for being the second woman speaker.”

Addressing House Democrats gathered on the Eastern Shore for their annual retreat, Biden said the combination of GOP obstructionism and a strengthening economy will propel the Democrats back into control of the lower chamber after just two years in the minority.

“It’s becoming absolutely clear the decisions that we made … are actually working,” Biden said, speaking softly because he said he’s battling a cold.

It’s sort of a “bad thought, good thought” situation. The bad is that Joe Biden is predicting the Dems will control the House after the election. The good is that in 2010 he predicted the same thing, and, well, you know how that turned out.

OK – tin foil hat time, anyone? Why are the Dems so giddy, happy, da&N certain that they’re going to win big in November? What does Nancy “know” that makes her act like she did with John King? She did not say she knew something ABOUT Newt – she said that she KNEW he would not be President!

I know the Rs are putting up some pretty weak candidates and there is a ton of infighting within the party between the RINOs and the Tea Party folks but I have to admit that I am a little worried about the blatant overconfidence among leading Democrats.

Just how much money did Soros funnel into getting liberals into Secretary of State offices throughout the country? What have the union thugs promised to do regarding the voting machines? It feels more and more like the Chicago Way and I am not sure what that means for all of us but I suspect it won’t be good!

Memo to the GOP Establishment: STOP trying to manipulate conservative voters (UPDATED)
We’re at a time right now when a lot of Republicans are still trying to make up their minds about who they want to take on Obama, and the information flowing out there about the candidates is coming in rapid fire and, frankly, is hard to keep up with even for people who make their living writing and commenting on politics, let alone people who work 40+ hours a week who simply can’t keep up with it all – and who have precious little time to devote to fact checking, especially on PEOPLE THEY SHOULDN”T HAVE TO (hint: I’m looking at you, Elliott Abrams). It’s expected that you can’t trust the mainstream media at all but especially this time of year, because their mission shifts from propping up Democrat politicos during non-election years to trying to keep them in office during election years (especially Presidential election years) by writing misleading piece after misleading piece about their GOP opposition (case in point). And, yes, even though you’re not supposed to put your 100% trust in just anything written by Republicans and conservatives about politicos and policy you have reasonable expectations that what they say isn’t going to be almost 100% deliberately misleading and/or fact-free. After all, we ALL as Republicans have the same goal and that is to have as our primary winner someone who has more often than not demonstrated conservative principles over the course of his or her political life, right?

    Wrong.

Don’t I know it? I live in Washington State where Dino Rossi clearly won the Governor’s office in 2004 only to have King County keep “finding” ballots until Christine Gregoire won by 133 votes on the third recount. The State GOP put together the weakest, most pathetic challenge in history and the state now has a massive budget shortfall, crumbling roads, horrible schools but LOTS of new gubmint union jobs, courtesy of Queen Christine!

The Democrats’ decisions have been based on finally realizing their goal of turning this country into a socialist paradise during Obama’s reign and putting in place an organizational structure that would be impossible to dismantle for years to come. Think back to where this country was in 2008 and where it is today. Look at the increase in the debt ($5T in 3+ years), the annual amount of deficits ($1+T is a given now), stuctural unemployment (under current conditions, real unemployment will never be reduced to less than 15%), the increase of the mob mentality of unions and crony capitalism, and the additional dumbing down of our education system. Damn right their decisions are working.

Of course, Biden is going to say that. Pelosi said the same thing in 2010 about keeping the house.

I would say that some democrats have all but given up on Obama and are looking ahead to 2014.

Their focus will be to limit republican gains in the Senate (I’d say 53 or less is a win for them) and maybe break even or net in a couple of house seats.

Then in 2014, if Romney is the president, they can have a shot to win back Congress over an ignornant USA electorate because things are going to have to hit bottom to get better and that is going to mean temporarily high inflation and housing declines. This is similar to what happened under Reagen from 80-82.

Romney they feel can be drug to the left which would probably mean his defeat in 2016.

Dems or Repubs, what’s the difference?

That is exactly What the left wants you to think.

This mentality will get people to say “they’re all the same, so I’ll just keep voting Democrat”.

Obama beats Romney in 2012, and Jeb Bush beats Hilary in 2016. Maybe that’s why Jeb is visiting Obama with his father. Imagine with all the blame thrown at George Bush, his father and brother would cordially visit him at the White House.

I’m supporting Santorum. Romney would easily defeat Barack Obama as long as he showed up at the debates and had a consistent argument of federalism with his MA health care plan. Romney poses unique problems for the democrats because he has some major sway in their northeast stronghold and with him on the ticket, every blue state from Minnesota to Rhode Island would be in play and the dems would have to spend much more money there to say nothing of the swing states.

And then there is the Walker recall and the Gabby Giffords open seat in AZ. Every dollar spent on these two is one dollar less for Barack Obama.

But I don’t care so much about mopping the floor with Obama. I’d rather have a Santorum/Bachmann or Santorum/Rubio ticket win by 2 points than a republican establisment ticket win by 8-10 and get drug to the left post 2014.

Nah, of course not. Every great drama needs a bit of comic relief from time to time, and his proclamation should stand as proof positive Obama is not going to be reelected. And if he is by some odd quirk of fate, all common sense conservatives should do a mass migration to Mexico, take that beleaguered country over with conservatism, let the lib-dems ruin this country, migrate back into the USA, and rebuild it into its greatness.

… a general return to apathy by the Tea Party could equal 2 years of Speaker Pelosi.

There is no “return to apathy”. It’s just that reporting on Tea Party has been shut down by the entire media, including the so-called “conservative” media, and so the establishment tools are stepping into the void in their inept way trying to make it look like they are speaking for us. The most conspicuous example was Sarah McPalin a couple of days ago. She may sound like she is one of us but she isn’t. She is an establishment tool either because she is naive or because she is a hypocrite.

These tools are trying to steal our thunder and deceive ua into supporting one of the current candidates by convincing that we no longer exist. They are full of crap. No one speaks for the Tea Party.

There is no Tea Party candidate currently running so there is no reason for us to rallying in favor of one or the other. They only know that we are very upset at being again locked out of the process and they are afraid that we might switch to Ron Paul. That is why there has been a call by establishment tools like Jack Welch and McPalin for the GOP establishment to cut a deal with Paul ASAP.

The Paul supporters are the only other sizable voting bloc that will not vote for the eventual GOP nominee the establishment is determined to cram down our throats. Tea Party is the missing component that would make Paul a viable 3rd party candidate. If Romney or Gingrich (or Mitch Daniels or Jeb Bush and others) become the GOP nominee, they cannot win if they lose the 12-15% Ron Paul currently has and a sizable portion of the large Tea Party vote. It’s that simple. They don’t want to deal with us directly so they are trying to create a phony narrative “as if”…

The GOP establishment tools are legion and they are desperate to trick the rest of us into believing that our Tea Party brethren have abandoned the cause and should therefore vote for whomever they tell us to vote for. It’s not true so don’t believe it. It’s crunch time for them, not for us.

If you were/are involved with the Tea Party, what I just said is not new to you. If it is new and you have been posting here telling us you are Tea Party, well now we now know you were never an involved member. Get involved. Locally. You’ll feel better. This is FAR from over.

Sounds a lot like Obama’s comment on the Cambridge police “acting stupid” right after saying he hasn’t yet seen the facts.

Calling SC Republican voters anti-Mormon bigots. That should really help Romney. Calling those of us who advocate stricter border control bigots worked so well in 2006 and 2008.

As I have documented twice on this and other trheads, Romney is ACTIVELY working against conservatives. He is spending much of his money actively working against the Tea Party. And Newt would be doing the same if he was the one with the money. Where was he during the Tea Party rallies?

That is a dubious assumption. It would be one thing if Gingrich weren’t presenting so much ammunition to Obama but he is. The problem with both Romney and Gingrich is that because they have taken every side on every issue at one time or another, you could assemble a very comprehensive video “proving” that you are right whether you are for him or against him.

Debating skills are no substitute for authenticity and good character. Gingrich lacks both. I believe that both he and Romney will get killed against Obama. When asked to choose between a Democrat and a democrat, voters ALWAYS choose the democrat. This time will be no different.

IF Romney is the Republican nominee, look for him to abandon every conservative position he claims in this primary in favor of more progressive positions. At some point he might even try to call himself some sort of ‘compassionate conservative’ like that other progressive did a few short years ago.

Did anyone notice how before the Iowa caucus Romney was clearly stating that he would end the Department of Education? Did you notice that in last Mondays Florida debate Romney stated he wanted MORE MONEY for education?

I wonder why ALL of the media pundits are ignoring this absurd ‘tell the audience what they want to hear’ moment by Romney?

I wonder what Romney’s position will be for the next primary?

    Speaking of Newt …

Herman Cain Endorses Newt Gingrich For President

“The state of the union is not good despite what you heard the other night,” Herman Cain said at the Palm Beach County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.

“That is point number one. It is not good, even though our president has convinced 45 to 50 percent of the people that is. You and I know that it is not. Point number two, we have become a nation of crises. And it is not going to get any better until we solve point number three, which is a crisis of leadership in the White House. That is our other biggest crisis, and that is why I am happy to be here tonight because I hereby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for President of the United States.”
