Jim Moran, racist pig

Congressman Jim Moran is an old white Democrat from Virginia who thinks he can judge whether we minority conservatives are acting sufficiently non-white enough. Moran’s an inveterate bully, a brawler, a crook and a bigot. And not one of his civility-preaching liberal colleagues has the courage to call him out.
Responding on cable news to GOP Rep. Allen West’s blunt criticisms of President Obama this week, Moran derided the retired U.S. Army colonel, who is black, as “not representative of the African-American community.” Moran then launched into the kind of tired race-traitor tirade I’ve heard from progressives of pallor for more than 20 years.
How dare we “people of color” stray from the left’s ideological plantation? If we choose personal responsibility over entitlement, capitalism over statism or self-determination over identity politics, presumptuous white liberals appoint themselves spokespeople for our forefathers and deciders of our true destinies.
To wit: Lt. Col. West “just seems clueless now that he has climbed aboard ship,” Moran fumed. “He’s climbed this ladder of opportunity that was constructed by so many of his ancestors’ sweat, sacrifice, blood, you know, they did everything they could for his generation to be successful. But now that he’s climbed on board ship, instead of reaching down and steadying the ladder, he wants to push it off.”
West, his father, his mother and his brother all dedicated their lives to military service; four consecutive generations of his family served in the U.S. armed forces. As a freshman congressman, West’s message has been a compelling agenda of self-empowerment. For this, he is savaged by a House colleague as a racial saboteur?
But Moran was just warming up. Next, he contrasted conservative West with big-government savior Barack Obama, who he said acted in proper accordance with his ancestors “by reducing college tuition and training our workers, trying to get a decent job for everybody” and leaving a “constructive legacy.”
Er, how’s the savior’s near double-digit unemployment, record food stamp enrollment, re-inflation of the housing and higher-education bubbles, and massive redistribution of wealth from the working class to the Wall Street bundler class working out for you?
Moran hailed Obama as “our Lion King” and compared his Republican detractors to the “hyenas in the background trying to cause trouble” for the White House. This bumbling chief of political correctness apparently is unaware that those hyenas in the Disney movie have been criticized for perpetuating negative stereotypes about blacks and Hispanics. Dog-whistle politics, anyone?
Do Moran’s constituents in Virginia’s 8th district support his incessant race-baiting? Last year, he accused Tea Party activists of racism for sweeping out entrenched Democrats in the November 2010 midterm elections. It “happened for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States. It happened because the Southern states, the slaveholding states, didn’t want to see a president who was opposed to slavery,” he ranted to Arabic-language television network Alhurra. “(A) lot of people in the United States don’t want to be governed by an African-American, particularly one who is liberal, who wants to spend money and who wants to reach out to include everyone in our society.”
Yet, only two short years before, this hopelessly racist nation put Obama in the Oval Office with a landslide victory. Logic never was the demagogue’s strong suit.
The aptly named Moran, an 11-term incumbent, continues to be rewarded by voters for his extravagant spending habits, self-dealing and diarrhea of the mouth. As I’ve reported previously:
– While on the Alexandria (Va.) City Council, he was charged with casting a vote that helped a developer friend win a bid for a lucrative plot of public land. A special prosecutor concluded that Moran had violated the state’s conflict-of-interest law. He sobbed as he pleaded no contest to a felony charge of vote-peddling. He received a year’s probation for a reduced conflict-of-interest misdemeanor charge and was forced to resign.
– In 1995, he had to be subdued by Capitol Hill police when he threw a punch at California Republican Rep. Randy Cunningham on the House floor. After the incident, Moran blamed “talk radio” for creating a hostile environment in Washington. That same year, he screamed “I’ll break your nose” at Indiana Republican Rep. Dan Burton during a hearing.
– In 2002, Moran revealed in financial disclosure statements that he accepted a $50,000 loan in January 2001 from an “old friend,” billionaire America Online co-founder James Kimsey. The congressman claims to have paid the business mogul back at 15 percent interest over three months, and his spokesman emphasized the loan came with no accompanying quid pro quo.
– Kimsey’s gift came on the heels of Moran’s disclosure that he had received another Big Business-tied loan: $25,000 from “old friend” Terry Lierman, a drug industry lobbyist representing Schering-Plough. After getting that unsecured loan at a lower-than-market interest rate, Moran co-sponsored a bill that would extend the patent on Schering-Plough’s allergy medicine Claritin — and prevent generic drug manufacturers from offering inexpensive alternatives.
Liberal busybodies are an annoyance. Liberal race-card abusers who lambaste patriotic minority conservatives to cover their own dirty deeds make my brown skin crawl.

Perhaps Jim Mor
aon isn’t up to speed on the current unemployment numbers. Black unemployment is well into double-digits: 16% for all blacks and over 50% for black teens. Way to look out for “your people” there, Lion King! And, please Mr. Mor
aon, cite a college where tuition has been lowered since Obama took office. It’s been climbing steadily for years, the next bubble to burst as people finally realize it is stupid to spend tens of thousands of dollars getting a worthless degree, which lands them a job as a barista at Starbucks if they’re lucky or in the unemployment line if they’re not.Not this “white people”.
Nothing racist about that at all. She’s just pointing out that he’s a racist.
Itook J-Bone’s post as sarcasm.
I had my sarc/ glasses on.
Ugh, this guy. White liberals have no damn business telling non-white people what politics they should have. I would vote him out of office, and I’m a liberal.
I agree Moran is a racist pig. Typical Liberal, wanting the Africa-Americans to stay on the Democrat plantation. Col. West is great!
I also just want to continue to support Rick Santorum for President. He’s leading in Missouri, which would be a huge win.
StaceyOfLiberty:
Good to see you’re not completely brainwashed. Now, time to go. Early flight to FL. Good night, everybody! I’ll try to stay in contact over the next 9 days!
Doh!!!
my mistake then.

HI STACEY_OF_LIBERTY–#205. Good to see basically liberal persons like you are still capable of thinking clearly. I thought that President Bill Clinton’s being called our first Black President by White Liberals was a truly bizarre claim.

Why pick on Moran? He just says what they all think.
If you do not realize that is what the Democrat leadership thinks, you just haven’t been listening. You cannot become a leader among Democrats if you haven’t bought into the whole White Male Power Structure view of American society in which all whites are oppressors of all non-whites and all men are oppressors of women.
Democrats are not mistaken. They are not just wrong. Other than the young ones, they don’t just need to learn more. They are what they are.
They are all Jim Moran.
This wouldn’t come as a great surprise if the people would grasp the fact that liberalism is a mental disease. And Jim Moran is a liberals liberal.
That’s the whole point: A slave society cannot continue without its slaves, and the masters know it only too well. That’s why they react swiftly, and with harshness all out of proprotion to the “offense,” when any slave starts getting “uppity.”
The funny — well, not so funny — thing about liberals and racism is that nowhere else will you find them projecting in a more pure form. If you’re looking for “White Privilege,” there’s Jim Moran staring at you. If you’re looking for “Structural Racism,” there’s the mental Berlin Wall of dependence, envy, fatalism, anger, resentment and class hatred that they expect “People of Color” not to dare attempt to cross.
If you’re looking for “The Man,” well, there’s Harry Reid deciding whether you’re a “Clean Negro” or not. And if you’re looking for “Uncle Toms” and “Race Traitors,” there’s Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and pretty much anyone on the Congressional Black Caucus.
They try so hard to make conservatives like Michelle look like cartoon characters, but in so doing they make caricatures of themselves. And as typical liberals with no sense of self-irony, they don’t even know it.
@rocketman – the Bill Clinton / “first black POTUS” thing originated with writer Toni Morrison. I have a ton of respect for Ms. Morrison, but I still think that was kind of weird.
***
HI AGAIN STACEY_OF_LIBERTY–#214. Thanks for the information on the source of the “first Black POTUS” comment. And if a president “deserves” this accolade–I think there are 3 with better actions than “Slick Willie”.
***
President Abraham Lincoln–who in the end finished off slavery. President Harry Truman–who issued an Executive Order desegregating the U.S. Military despite 90 percent of the people being against giving equal rights to Black Servicemen. “Give ‘em Hell Harry” decided to do the right thing. President Dwight D. Eisenhower when he used the Army to enforce Federal Law and to escort and protect Black Students from racist White mobs when Southern schools and state and local governments refused them protection and admittance into all White schools.

I was in high school when the TV news showed hundreds of armed Soldiers with bayonetted rifles on either side of the students as they entered school. And saw a .30 caliber machine gun set up in the hallway just in case. My Reno, Nevada school had students of all races and ethnic backgrounds in it. With equal treatment for all. It was the first time I had ever seen discrimination in action in other parts of the country. A real eye opener.

WOT but significant voting by illegals reported in FL. And this was in the GOP primary. Yeah, FL is different from CA. Wait until the TX primary and when THAT myth will be exposed too.
And is if there isn’t enough bad news about hopelessly corrupt Congress, they nixed the ban on earmarks again. Thanks GOP. I’ll bet they’ll nix the next attempt to ban insider trading too.
Yeah, it really matters that it be a Republican president and Congress driving the bus as we all go over the cliff. How does that go again?
When I was a Junior in H.S., we finally got our FIRST black student, a lovely girl. We treated her just fine, in our white, middle-class school. She was included in everything and had lots of friends.
She didn’t come back the next year. I have no idea why. That was the only black person I had ever met up to then.
When I lived in Miami Beach for 6 months, I worked in a cafeteria with mostly blacks. They became my friends and we had a blast. When I went back to Miami a couple years later, that was the first place I went, to see my old friends.
My point is, while I realized their skin color was different from mine, I did not treat them any differently than any one else, nor did I even think for a minute that there WAS a difference! Maybe that is what separates us from the bigoted libs. They look at a person and see “race”. We look and see “another person”.
Unless you have personally experienced this, you won’t understand what the heck I am talking about. That is why the regressives will never “get it”!!
Phil…I am also extremely worried about voter fraud. If we can’t trust our elections, we are toast. That is the only thing keeping us from becoming Venezuela. That is why PHOTO ID’s for both primaries and general elections HAVE to be shown!! Anyone who is against photo id’s can only want one thing…voter fraud. There is NO other eason to fight this common sense law. There is no excuse for not having a photo id, unless you are illegal or want to commit a crime.
An official, government-issued id with your picture on it, much like a driver’s license, would serve many purposes and make life easier for those of us who are honest, law-abidig citizens. In fact, a bar code could be put on it that could be scanned at the polls so that it could not be used twice.
***
HI PASADENA_PHIL–#216. Texas didn’t have voter photo I.D. laws in the last election. However, I seem to remember that it may be required in Nov. 2012. Barring Department of (social) Justice or SCOTUS actions. Texas already requires real proof of identity and legal residency before issuing drivers licenses.

You are pretty much describing the difference between being race tolerant in an all-white environment than going through an awakening when you are the minority. I went through the same thing.
I grew up in a virtually all-white environment and never thought I had race issues even after I moved to Boston where I had my first exposure to other races. But Boston is an apartheid plantation run by an “open-minded” liberal ruling class and looking back, that experience was just about tokenism where there was always “a” black in the office, there would always be “a” black couple at the wedding and so on. PC white people were only “bending over blackwards” to prove that they were not racists but only so long as they are in charge and the “intrusion” of non-whites was minimal and “under control”. These are the people running things in this country.
Then I moved to CA where whites are in the minority and it took me a while to get used to it. In the NE, whenever you see a lot of blacks or hispanics in a neighborhood, you are in a bad neighborhood. That is not the case out here. There are some affluent black neighborhoods on Pasadena. There is no escape from non-whites out here and it is not a problem unless you make it a problem. It’s about poverty and illegal immigration and the corruption that brings with it.
I had to change and I did. I’m not quite blind to race and ethnicity (Glendale is the new HQ for the Russian mafia aka Armenians e.g.) but my radar no longer activates every time I meet non-whites. I reserve the right to dislike anyone I choose to but race is no longer part of the “chemistry” that leads to friendship or “pass”.
Will those laws be enforced? I spend about 2-3 weeks in TX in most years and recognize that TX is actually three states with the fastest growing third (south east) being very much like CA: poor cities run by Hispanics and populated largely illegal immigrants. The growth in jobs that Perry was crowing about was largely minimum wage and below and funded by porkulus.
We have laws here too. But they are only enforced where it doesn’t matter while ignoring them where it does. Now, they are at the point where pass openly laws specifically exempting the illegals from enforcement and granting them special rights.
You are outnumbered and the growth elements of TX (illegals and liberal voters relocating) are working against defending the TX you describe. That’s what happened in CA, AX, NM, and is happening in most other states, even Alaska. It is why the corrupt and entrenched one-party system is entrenching itself and why they are so brazen about it. We just don’t count anymore. And we obviously are not going to do anything about it other than deny or complain.
That’s AZ not AX (one of the 7 secret states Obama refers to).
Looks like another active virus software weekend. My Avast! and firewall are working top speed.

HI AGAIN PASADENA_PHIL–#221. New Mexico did elect conservative Governor Susanna Martinez in the last election. She is trying to stop New Mexico from issuing driver’s licenses to illegal (not “undocumented”) aliens. Not all Hispanics favor the illegal invasion. In one case there were over 100 licenses issued to the same house address in a few months time. Nuttin to see here–move along! Just another of those unfortunate coinkidinks.

Polls consistently show (if you poll only legal hispanics) that illegal immigration is least popular among hispanics than any other ethnic group although blacks also score high. When I first moved here in 1989. I knew little to nothing about the subject. I was educated by self-made successful Mexican about the subject so I know whereof I speak. I learned through the local Mexican community.
It is often pointed out here (but no one listens anymore nor cares) that when Cesar Chavez made his famous protest march from Sacramento to the southern border, it was in protest of illegal immigration. La Raza existed back then but there were treated with disdain by the Mexican community that was more interested in survival and becoming Americans than in “reconquista”.
It is only since La Raza has become the selected spokesman (selected by the white establishment) that amnesty has become a cause celebre for hispanics.
So long as the establishment is corrupt and entrenched, that truth doesn’t matter. The dominant truth is that we have lost our constitutional rights and when we all finally angry enough to actually do something about it other than gripe, it will be too late.
NM and AZ are already lost despite their governors. They are mere lonely voices in the wilderness surrounded by whiny noseholding bystanders who agree with them but won’t help. Too risky. Better to go with the LOTE sure thing.
Took a phone call from the Santorum’s MO campaign center or something like that. Was offered a ride in a car pool to the polls. Declined the offer of a ride since I have transportation. BTW, Santorum was here in northeast MO yesterday. Was working at the time and unaware of his campaign stops. Seriously thinking of voting for him. Not the perfect candidate (no such creature exists since Jesus never ran for political office contrary to Obama’s recent assertion) but acceptable.
We are asked for identification at the polls here in MO. When everyone is asked and must supply identification (photo id preferable) to be issued a ballot, I fail to see the problem. If campaign offices can arrange for transportation for the elderly and others who may not have it, they can also give a ride to someone to a registrar’s office for an id card. If they do not have funds to obtain an id card, the campaign office could pay for that in hardship cases.
I agree with you, those who are opposed to such common sense legislation have devious reasons for doing so.
Protect the vote and the ballot!
He’s right about that.
But you spelled ‘lyin’ wrong.
Wrong again, my friend. Democrats did not say it. Newt Gingrich is the one talking about wanting food stamps vs. jobs. and the “blah” people (black people) comment was Rick Santorum. Try stepping out of your bubble into reality.
Funny, how Michelle is outraged, and rightly so, but many black people, including their leadership, are not.
Curious state of race relations in the US!
Off topic: Interesting video….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=H3aCfR8rmrw
I am continually intrigued by the cognative bias of Progressives.
How one equates “Food stamp president” to blacks is beyond me. Numerically, there are far more non-blacks on food stamps. To make the clain MSD makes that Gingrich is referring to blacks shows the MSD blelieves only black people are on food stamps. This speaks volumes about his apparentl callous attitude towards the white poor.
And one gets “black” from “blah” is equally mystifying. It reminds me of the time a Middle School math teacher was pilloried for being racist, because he used the word “nigarrdly” in a story problem.
Bias, stupidity, poor vocabulary, or perhaps the inability to read with comprehension. Lord knows how the synaptic nerves of a Progressive are wired.
Progressives believe some people are disposable in their quest for power. Just ask Alan West, all of Clinton’s mistresses, unborn aborted children, the Contras, the South Vietnamese and 1.8 million dead Cambodians.
I don’t know why we continue to respond to idiotic posts like this one. There is no getting through to these imbiciles.
Why is calling Obama the Food Stamp POTUS, racist?? Is it because Obama is black. or do you think mostly blacks are on food stamps? If you do, then it is YOU who are the racist. Why would you assume that food stamps and blacks automatically go together??
This really is like hitting our heads on a brick wall. Maybe we would feel better if we just stopped for a while. Some people will NEVER get it.
You can’t keep them down on the Democrat plantation once they’ve see the conservative light!
Happy, none of them should be taken seriously, including otabengay (mistressjustice), ILMC, etc. They take themselves waaayyy tooo seriously as it is.
Two comments taken out of context by race-baiters who really don’t care about what happened to their ancestors unless it’s a crutch for them to get free government goodies because of ethnic origin or because they have darker skin.
Reality is the province of most independents and conservatives, not liberalism. Liberalism can only advance itself through lies, deceit and twisting comments about gender and race and religion by conservatives yet ignoring the vast Democrat Party membership ranks of former KKK men and other racial supremacy groups like La Raza and the Black Panthers.
It’s the mainstream liberal media, which is loaded with well to do white men, that connected food stamps and black people.
Quick! Somebody please tell me the difference between the late (and not-so- great) John Murtha and James Moran?
George: Flowing?
Jerry: Flowing?
George: Is it flowing? I like flowing, cascading hair. Thick lustrous hair is
very important to me.
Jerry: ‘Thick lustrous hair is very important to me,’ is that what you said?
George: Yeah, that’s right.
Jerry: Just clarifying.
George: Let me ask you this. If you stick your hand in the hair is it easy to
get it out?
Jerry: Do you want to be able to get it out or do you want to not be able to
get it out?
George: I’d like to be able to get it out.
Jerry: I think you’ll get it out.
George: What about the skin? I need a good cheek, I like a good cheek.
Jerry: She’s got a fine cheek.
George: Is there a pinkish hue?
Jerry: A pinkish hue?
George: Yes, a rosy glow.
Jerry: There’s a hue.
Jim Moran is excrement. Ever wonder why RINO Boehner doesn’t threaten Moran with a public reprimand? The entire Democrat party in the House needs a reprimand. One a day just before the general elections should do the trick.
This is how Moron, er, Moran expresses “to us racists” how he believes Rep. West doesn’t know his place? The only thing missing was the explicit use of the word, “boy!”
I’m so-o tired of these liberal (compassionate keepers of racial decorum) making asinine accusations when they disagree.
IMHO, the race-baiting blacks and the guilt-ridden white progressives who consistently play the race card, are in fact, the actual racists. They are unwilling, or unable to take MLK’s statement about the “quality of character” to heart.
