‘Prominent’ GOP Senator: If Romney Loses Michigan, We Need a New Candidate

With Mitt Romney not walking away with the nomination as many hoped and/or predicted, some in the so-called “establishment” wing of the party (apologies to George Will for using that mythical term) are reacting like Warden Hazen in The Longest Yard when the Mean Machine took the lead in the game against the guards: This isn’t supposed to happen!

From Jonathan Karl:

A prominent Republican senator just told me that if Romney can’t win in Michigan, the Republican Party needs to go back to the drawing board and convince somebody new to get into the race.

“If Romney cannot win Michigan, we need a new candidate,” said the senator, who has not endorsed anyone and requested anonymity.

The senator believes Romney will ultimately win in Michigan but says he will publicly call for the party to find a new candidate if he does not.

The unnamed Senator reportedly said that “new candidate” should be Jeb Bush.

I won’t venture a guess as to which Senator Jonathan Karl was referring. There are maybe ten Republican Senators that could be described as “prominent” who haven’t yet endorsed a candidate. If this Senator is serious, I guess we’ll find out who he is if Romney loses Michigan. But it’s probably a moot point anyway. Rep. Paul Ryan said it’s too late for anybody else to effectively jump into the race, and he’s right.

You didn’t answer the question. Stop acting like Phil.

Aw gee, now you shamed me into it. (sorry Phil)

Like Dexter says, if one State leaves Obowmao off the ballot, then the dialog has to begin. Force the MSM to ask the right question, not whether Obowmao was born in Hawaii, but whether he meets the Constitutional criteria of ‘natural born citizen’, for the Office of the Presidency (or Vice-Presidency), the only criteria the Founders added to differentiate the holding of any other branch of Governemnt office.

    On post #91, you said:

We’re being governed by lawlessness and tyranny.

    I answered:

Then we have 2 choices: the ballot box or bullets.

When a government is seen as tyrannical, those are the choices available for the people to get rid of it.

Maybe YOU prefer a third choice: grab the ankles and take it.

    Obama isn’t eligible either.

You can want Marco Rubio in the White House all you want. Without two citizen parents, he’s not constitutionally eligible.

I predicted this earlier this month.

The Constitution forbids guys like Rubio from being President so as to also prevent guys like Obama from doing the same.

Surely there’s a judge out there somewhere with integrity and dedication to the Constitution that won’t dodge the question behind a false screen of ‘lack of standing’.

Not that the Attorney General will follow his recommendation, but here is one.

There has been no “precedent” set.
Obama was a mistake. All of Congress is complicit in his being eligible.

As is every American who neglects or refuses to take a stand.

Santorum couldn’t win his own Senate seat in his own state of PA, but let’s declare Romney dead in the water, shall we? Or maybe you should wait until TUE 4/24 to see if Santorum can win the primary in his own state?

This blog has gotten to be like an echo chamber. All the comments here are RINO, RINO, RINO. Such shortsightedness.
