According to the latest poll, if the Supreme Court were to throw out the Obamacare law after they hear the case this spring/summer, they’d be doing President Obama an election year favor.

From USA Today:

The health care overhaul that President Obama intended to be the signature achievement of his first term instead has become a significant problem in his bid for a second one, uniting Republicans in opposition and eroding his standing among independents.

In a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll of the nation’s dozen top battleground states, a clear majority of registered voters call the bill’s passage “a bad thing” and support its repeal if a Republican wins the White House in November. Two years after he signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act— and as the Supreme Court prepares to hear arguments about its constitutionality next month — the president has failed to convince most Americans that it was the right thing to do.

Does Obamacare cover treatment for self inflicted political wounds?

null

As Joe Biden would say, that’s a big f-ing deal.

Numbers on constitutionality:

null

That’s a little disturbing, because according to that same poll, 43% nationally support the law. That translates to a sizable number of people are gung ho about the government passing laws that are unconstitutional. Fortunately there weren’t enough of them to re-elect this guy, but there are a lot of others like him who don’t seem to have trouble keeping their jobs.

Update: The same poll also shows Obama trailing both Romney and Santorum in swing states.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air on the uphill battle Obama faces:

Don’t forget one last thing, too. Democrats purposefully front-loaded the benefits of ObamaCare in 2010 in a desperate attempt to avoid a beating in the midterms. ObamaCare won’t get any more popular between now and the election, and it’s likely to get less popular.

According to Debbie Wasserman Schultz, people who don’t like the health care bill are just too stupid to realize how awesome it is.
