Polls had Rick Santorum up by low double digits heading into today’s primary, so somewhat as expected, Louisiana went Santorum’s way:

Rick Santorum won the Louisiana Republican primary on Saturday, CNN projected based on exit polls, adding an 11th state to his total but still trailing Mitt Romney by a wide margin in the national delegate count.

The network made the call moments after voting closed, citing Santorum’s lead among voters in all income groups except for the very wealthy.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, was projected to finish second in the state, with former House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich in third place and Texas congressman Ron Paul fourth.

Santorum, a socially conservative former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, has done well in the Deep South, winning Mississippi and Alabama earlier this month.

Here’s the breakdown from Townhall:

An updated delegate count is here. Wisconsin, Maryland and DC hold winner-take-all primaries on April 3rd. A schedule of all upcoming primaries is here.

Final primary note: The GOP candidates all say they’d be better for business than Obama, and they proved it this past week: Etch-a-Sketch stock soared.

Okay, let’s consider this an open thread for Saturday night/Sunday morning. Any subject is fair game. If you’re sick of presidential politics, here are a couple of optional topics:

–If you own a Chevy Volt you’re going to want to replace the charge cord. Nobody thought the $7,500 tax credit would be easy did they?

–Hillary Clinton OKs $1.3 billion in aide to Egypt. Does Congress still have any say over appropriations or did I miss a few updated episodes of Schoolhouse Rock?

–Dick Cheney underwent a heart transplant on Saturday. Here’s wishing the former Veep a successful recovery. I won’t bother linking to some of the reaction from the left. If you want to know what they’re saying, just think of the worst thing you can imagine and multiply it by at least three.

–Buzzkill for Al Gore: Climate alarmists lose lawsuit blaming energy companies for causing Hurricane Katrina.
