According to a new poll, Richard Mourdock now leads 36-year incumbent Republican Senator Dick Lugar 48 to 38. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus however many Democrats Lugar ends up convincing to vote for him.
In February, Lugar had a 20-plus point lead on Mourdock, but now there’s a sense of RINO blood in the water.
Meanwhile, Mourdock picked up a pretty good endorsement:
Rick Santorum, hours after his private, staff-free meeting with Mitt Romney, endorsed Richard Mourdock in the Indiana Senate primary against incumbent Richard Lugar with this Facebook post:
If I lived in Indiana, Richard Mourdock would have my vote in Tuesday’s U.S. Senate primary race. I encourage Hoosiers to help get out the vote for him.
The primary is on Tuesday. The winner squares off with Democrat Rep. Joe Donnelly in November.
By the way, Michelle will be in Indianapolis, Indiana Saturday (the same day President Obama will finally start campaigning) for the Hoosier Conservatives Rally for Richard Mourdock. More info here. As for me, I’ll be at an Outback Steakhouse in West Bloomfield, Michigan endorsing a giant ribeye.
