Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep,
May the soldier
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
To their rest.
Fades the light;
And the stars
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.
Thanks and praise,
For our days,
‘Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
‘Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.

The Blue Angels’ missing man formation:
Words and men I’ll never forget:
“Others have died for my freedom, now this is my mark.” – Cpl. Jeffrey B. Starr.
“He knew what he was fighting for.” – father of Lt. Michael P. Murphy.
“He felt that what we were doing was just and right.” – Charles Cummings, father of fallen hero Army PFC Branden Cummings, who died in an IED attack in Diyala, Iraq.
220,000 American flags to be placed on the graves at Arlington National Cemetery.
Here in Colorado Springs, Fort Carson remembers:
A special ceremony Thursday morning to honor soldiers who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for their country in the global war on terrorism. Outside Gate One at Fort Carson off Highway 115, there’s nine stone tablets to honor these soldiers. This new group means the total of Fort Carson heroes is at 366 on the memorial stones.
Friends, family and fellow soldiers gathered to pay their respects to this group. Here is the list of men who were honored today. They include SSG Lex Lee Lewis, MSG Charles Levan Price, The Third, CPT Drew Edward Russell, CPT Joshua Sean Lawrence, SPC Christopher L. Mendonca, SSG, Allen Robert McKenna, Jr., SSG Daniel Joseph Brown, PFC Eric Daniel Soufrine and SGT Ken K. Hermogino.
God bless our fallen troops and all of their families who remind us that freedom is not free.blog comments powered by Disqus
