It was with great disappointment that many conservative bloggers discovered they’d be working without a net this week. On slow news days or for a break from the seriousness of it all, there’s always Joe Biden’s slapstick exploits to write about. But not this week:

Vice President Biden, who has been increasingly prone to gaffes and veering off message as of late, is taking the week off.

Biden will be at home in Wilmington, Delaware for the rest of the week.

A source at a Wilmington barber shop tells me this is the time of year that the Veep usually has his head re-tooled for the switch to summer plugs, a process that can take a few days (that and his daughter’s getting married this coming Saturday).

Compounding the drought of material, Congress is also in recess this week.

I don’t want to make Biden nervous for whatever reason about events that may transpire today in his absence, but, um…

In the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.
