Mix together Joe Biden’s “every great idea has required government to succeed” and Elizabeth Warren’s “there’s nobody in this country who got rich on his own” and you get this doozy that took place during Faint-Fest 2012 last week.

Transcript of part of Obama’s speech via The Blaze:

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own**. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

Yes, somebody did “invest” in the infrastructure that helps us thrive — taxpayers did — including those who are wealthy, along with small business owners and others who are apparently fooling themselves into thinking they worked hard and smart to get where they are when in fact they were carried there by big government.

Isn’t it too bad Obama, Biden or Fauxcahontas aren’t willing to make these statements to people on the other end of the economic spectrum? It would be interesting to see them stand before an audience of, say, plant workers who lost their jobs because of EPA regs, and remind them “you didn’t get to the unemployment line on your own — somebody gave you some help!”

Here’s that portion of the speech that caused some of an adoring crowd to faint en masse, at which point they may have regained consciousness in an ambulance asking where they were, with Obama there to remind them “you didn’t get here on your own”:
