CNN: We didn’t intentionally play ‘Stupid Girls’ for the Palin intro — total coincidence

Over the weekend, CNN ran a short piece about Sarah Palin with an interesting choice of intro music:

CNN later expressed regret… that anybody could possibly think it was anything but an unfortunate coincidence:

“The music selection was a poor choice and was not intended to be linked to any news story. We regret any perception that they were planned together.”

CNN’s current president is leaving at the end of the year, so with any luck the incoming boss will update the network’s slogan from “The Most Trusted Name in News” to “Hope You Were Born Yesterday.”

And yet, sure, it’s possible a mistake was made and somewhere a low level CNN staffer is being loudly berated for the error:

“You inattentive fool! I told you to play ‘How Sweet To Be An Idiot’ for that lead-in, not ‘Stupid Girls’!”
