The RNC has a new web ad addressing a claim made by the Obama campaign’s Stephanie Cutter that she “does not know the facts of when Joe Soptic’s wife got sick or when she died.”

This pretty much puts a large, bold capital “B” on “Busted”:

Maybe Cutter will take a page from Jay Carney and say she knows three guys named Joe Soptic and got confused because she wasn’t sure which one people were referring to.

The portion of the May conference call featuring Soptic telling his story and Cutter thanking him at the end is here. On network newscasts, this story has been met with crickets.

The Washington Post fact checker screened Priorities USA Action’s “Romney killed my wife” spot for his four Pinocchios and found that the noses on all of them grew so fast they later got jobs as stunt doubles in a late night Cialis ad. Also, the co-founder of the Super-PAC that aired the Soptic ad channeled a bit of Nathan Thurm, but nobody on CNN was buying it:

Meanwhile, the Twitter silence is deafening.
