File under “having solved all other problems…”:
President Obama weighed in on the NFL officiating controversy today, urging the league to settle its labor dispute with referees after last night’s “terrible” events in Seattle.
“I’ve been saying for months we’ve got to get our refs back,” Obama told reporters at the White House after returning from this week’s visit to the United Nations in New York City.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said he didn’t discuss details of the now-infamous play with Obama. He said Obama wanted to emphasize that the criticism emphasizes the need for the NFL to resolve its dispute with the veteran referees, a point the president also made in an interview with a Cleveland radio station.
Brace yourselves… I smell another beer summit on the way.
There is much concern at the White House over these particular bumps in the road:
On Air Force One, Carney tells reporters that Pres Obama thinks last night’s game shows need for both sides to settle the referees lockout.

The White House would never admit it, but their decision to get more involved in the officiating fiasco is actually perpetuating the problem. For example, here’s a thumbnail pic of the infamous “touchdown call heard ’round the country” last night:

Look a little closer at the referee signaling touchdown:

I knew it!
