Nancy Pelosi will stay on as House minority leader

A lot of people expected her to step aside, but deep down was there ever any real doubt?

A congressional official says House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has told her party caucus she will remain as minority leader in the new session of Congress.

This official says the 72-year-old Pelosi made the decision to remain at the helm of the party’s House leadership even though Democrats failed to win the necessary 25 additional seats to become the majority party again.

And nobody but nobody is going to challenge Pelosi’s authoritah:

While Pelosi must run for reelection to her minority leadership position, no Democrat has made a move to seriously challenge her.

The NRCC released a statement that basically says “we’re happy that one of the reasons the Dems lost the House has decided to remain in a leadership position.”

During her remarks today, Pelosi let her wishes cloud her brain: “We don’t have the majority, but we have the gavel” (via Gateway Pundit):
