Will Obama include his Hollywood supporters in the discussion about repairing a culture that ‘glorifies guns and violence’? Updated

President Obama has responded to a petition to the White House — which has almost 200,000 signatures at this point — asking the federal government do more to control guns:
President Obama this morning issued a video response to a White House petition demanding more gun control – specifically mentioning America’s gun culture.
Obama signaled that although he believed in the Second Amendment, most Americans were lawful gun owners who would support his ideas for gun control.
“I am also betting that the majority — the vast majority — of responsible, law-abiding gun owners would be some of the first to say that we should be able to keep an irresponsible, law-breaking few from buying a weapon of war,” he said promoting the idea of an assault rifle ban and ending the sale of high capacity magazines. Obama added that he believed in better background checks, and closing the gun show loophole.
Obama also promised to address the culture in America, “that too often glorifies guns and violence,” as well as school safety and mental health care.
Hopefully Obama brings some of his biggest Hollywood supporters into the discussion so they can help think of a few ways to help change a “culture that glorifies guns and violence.” I wonder what those ideas would be? Dismantling the NRA might be among the suggestions they would offer… before getting back to work on their films.
“Quiet on the set… and… action!”:

Update: More on this subject here.
Update II: Tinseltown celebs demand a plan. Well, any plan that doesn’t include many of these same people taking a break from earning their fortunes in part by making movies that glorify violence and promote moral decay — or joking about it, for that matter. Their First Amendment rights are limitless, but your Second Amendment rights should be subjected to tight federally mandated restrictions:
