Joe “Republican bullets are aimed at you” Biden has been charged with spearheading a task force on reducing gun violence (yes, the same guy charged with making sure there was no waste in the stimulus). Biden has met or will meet with the Brady Campaign, the NRA, representatives from Hollywood and the video game industry, hunting groups, Wal-Mart, and Michael Bloomberg’s organization “Mayors Against salt smoking trans fats global warming large sodas Illegal Guns.”

After a few meetings, Biden seems sure of one thing so far: Whatever “solutions” they move forward with, at least some of them will require executive orders:

President Barack Obama is exploring executive orders to help stop mass shootings in America, Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday.

“The president is going to act. Executive orders, executive action, can be taken,” Biden told reporters before meetings with groups representing survivors of mass shootings. “We haven’t decided what this is yet, but we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and all the rest of the Cabinet members.”

Legislative action also is needed, Biden said.

Here’s a comforting thought: if the executive orders start flying and a constitutional amendment is ignored, we can count on Congress to… stand there and let it happen.

If the Obama administration wanted to prove they were serious, why didn’t they start by having David Gregory arrested for violating an existing gun law. It would have been easy — last weekend he was sitting three feet from the president!
