Going out of print last year doesn’t seem to have damaged Newsweek’s faith

Last week, Newsweek’s digital cover asked a question:

This week they let everyone know that the answer to that question was “not yet”:

Can you believe it? No halo? The author of the article, Evan Thomas, who once called Obama “sort of God,” may have strong words for the mag’s graphics department for the egregious oversight.
The publication still has faith… mostly that this kind of thing can bring in extra traffic.
Newsweek’s 2005 “inaugural issue” at the start of George W. Bush’s second term was decidedly less cultish, but at least they were still in print back then.
Not to bring anybody down from Newsweek’s ecclesiastical inaugural high, but the Associated Press has some disturbing news for the faithful that could shatter a few belief systems:
Scientifically, the president doesn’t have control of day-to-day weather. While his policies can lessen or worsen future projected global warming on a large scale, they cannot do anything about Washington’s daily temperature on Jan. 21.
Where’s your messiah now, Newsweek?
