CNN correspondent at inaugural parade: I feel like I should pinch myself right now

The scene in the press section during today’s inaugural parade was indeed chaotic as “journalists” covering the event were overcome with emotion:

CNN’s national political correspondent, Jim Acosta, had to be revived with smelling salts after being stationed a little too close to the first couple and suffering from an overdose of awesomeness. “I feel like I should pinch myself right now”:
Acosta knew that if he was to be pinched he’d have to do it himself, because his CNN colleagues were busy acting like tweens at a Justin Bieber concert:
NBC’s Brian Williams got in on the action too: “There hasn’t been this much fascination with a first lady since Jackie Kennedy” (Related trivia: To solidify the Jackie/Michelle comparison even further, it’s been said that once at a White House luncheon Jackie Kennedy rolled her eyes at something said by then Speaker of the House Galusha Grow, and that feistiness was repeated today).
Andrea Mitchell predictably got in on the act as well. I was surprised, because to my knowledge neither Brian nor Andrea referenced the movie The American President as they often like to do when talking about Obama. If that’s the case I lost a bet.
These people are yet again among the pool of objective journalists who the GOP will allow to moderate debates in 2016.
