In all honesty I’ll be mostly paying attention to the Michigan/Michigan State game, but here’s a thread for SOTU discussion. They’re saying the speech will focus on jobs and the economy, and naturally it will contain calls for more stimulus (I’m sorry, I meant “investments”). In other words, we’ve heard it before. Some excerpts are here.

Ted Nugent will be the guest of one Republican congressman, and some illegal immigrants will be the guests of some Democrats. Sheila Jackson Lee has had an aisle seat staked out since about 5 a.m. and she is ready for her closeup!

The one member of the Cabinet who will not attend the speech has been chosen:

Meaning if something were to happen to everyone in the U.S. Capitol tonight, Steven Chu would be the next president and the country would be split into two separate but equal nations known as Solyndraland and Voltania.

Update: “It’s not a bigger government we need, but a smarter government that sets priorities and invests in broad-based growth.”

Visions for a leaner, smarter government that, just coincidentally, will require a bigger government to set up.
