It’s only fitting that problems caused by run amok spending over the years are causing Joe Biden to ditch Air Force Two (aka “Gaffe Force One”) and instead use the Amtrak train station named after him that was paid for with stimulus funds and came in way over budget.

From New York Post:

Dreaded federal spending cuts are due to start today, and one of the first to feel the pinch is Vice President Joe Biden.

Air Force Two, the luxury military jet that costs about $180,000 per hour to ferry Biden around, has been grounded for his weekend trips home to Delaware.

Biden insisted that it was his idea, and that he’s happy to get back on Amtrak.

He famously commuted by train throughout his long Senate career. He blamed the Secret Service for making him fly.

“I was able to say, ‘Look, guys, I’ve got to take the train now — it’s cheaper than flying,’” Biden said in a speech delivered to the National Association of Attorneys General.

Now I’m really confused, because this entirely contradicts Biden’s “we have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt” theory.
