Today I’m busy with the kids’ activities, so how about a Sunday thread for random discussion?

Here are a few items in the news for possible discussion:

–Obama economic adviser Gene Sperling (the one who was critical of Bob Woodward’s reporting about the sequester) admitted this morning that the White House put forth the design of the sequestration (somebody alert the AP):

*****

Quote of the week: “The worst case scenario for us is the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.”
*****

–The US Navy is planning a drone base near Malibu, California, which would probably garner some protest from the Hollywood left if Bush was still in office. Here’s a separate headline: “Hollywood wants drones for filmmaking.” I’m sure the Obama administration and Hollywood can work something out.
*****

–Dennis Rodman was on ABC’s This Week program — because there’s just nothing else going on in the news — and Rodman, fresh off a visit to North Korea, called Kim Jong Un a “great guy” and I think even compared him to Bill Clinton.
*****

–Obama issued 17 pardons on Friday. Wasn’t that more like a couple thousand?
*****

–A few days ago, Michelle spoofed the first lady’s “evolution of mom dancing” in a video called “evolution of liberal dance.” Not everybody was thrilled with that sort of “heresy” from “conservative lunatics.” That response is a spoof of itself, rendering it unspoofable.
*****

–#NewTone: Wisconsin Democratic aide compares Scott Walker to Jeffrey Dahmer.
*****

–Saturday Night Live did a fairly good mock-job on Obama’s use of human props at news conferences:
