Obama chooses interesting backdrop for ‘new investments in America’ speech

Yesterday, President Obama was in Miami, Florida promoting a new $21 billion infrastructure “stimulus” plan:

“What are we waiting for?” Mr. Obama asked, surrounded by massive cranes and cargo containers. “There’s work to be done. There are workers who are ready to do it. Let’s prove to the world that there’s no better place to do business than right here in the United States of America, and let’s get started rebuilding America.”

The Obama administration chose the location for the speech because it is proof-positive that continued government “investments” in American manufacturing, equipment and infrastructure leads to American jobs:

Obama’s visit highlighted a massive tunnel project underway at the port. The PortMiami project has employed more than 500 people over three years and attracted federal, state and private capital, the White House said.

Below is a photo from the White House website. Behind Obama, an American flag is visible — one of a couple of flags that adorned the crane — a powerful, proud symbol of the administration’s “investment” in America:
