Obama promotes latest infrastructure stimulus proposal by offering up plenty of bricks at Easter Egg Roll shootaround

We’re often told that President Obama is a good basketball player, so that must mean this performance was instead designed to promote the administration’s $21 billion stimulus proposal for infrastructure. After all, when you’re trying to get everybody on board your latest plan re-build America from the ground up, get their minds on bricks:
And then it began. A series of painful misses and air balls.
After six more failed free throws, Obama traded balls. After 10 misses, he moved in closer. After 11, he tried a few layups.
After the president missed 13 shots in a row from various distances, 10-year old Kahron Campbell stepped in to help.
Campbell made the layup on his first try.
Then, finally, on his 18th attempt of the morning, the president made his layup.
“He couldn’t make one. I had to help him out,” Campbell later told pool reporters (off-camera).
Obama tried several more outside shots, finally hitting from the baseline on his 22nd total attempt, before leaving the court.
Obama’s nine percent shooting performance explained:
“The president doesn’t get to practice probably as much as he’d like to,” Carney said.
If somebody would put in a basketball court on the golf course maybe we could solve this problem. But I’m surprised and a little disappointed that Carney didn’t think of the “brick/infrastructure” excuse.

The White House later had Reggie Love’s replacement as Obama’s right hand man, Billy Hoyle, check the hoop specs and it turned out the problem wasn’t with the president’s shot — there were issues with the basket (language warning).
