Protip for the Obama administration: The HHS director should be told to go out of her way to ensure the words “Sebelius joked…” don’t appear in news stories. Not now. Not at any point in the near future.

From the Boston Herald:

The nation’s top health official — facing calls for her resignation amid the botched roll-out of the Obamacare website — basked in the applause of a friendly, pro-Obama crowd Wednesday night in Boston, lightly telling them it was great “for all kinds of reasons.”

“What a great room to be in tonight. For all kinds of reasons,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said to welcoming laughter as she took the stage at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library for a gala marking 50 years since President Kennedy signed the landmark Community Mental Health Act.

“I can tell you it’s good for my mental health,” Sebelius joked.

The bill for Obamacare contractors taxpayers are forced to eat has now reportedly topped $1 billion (and that’s before the “tech surge”), but it’s nice Sebelius was able to get in a little mental health break.

And of course you can’t have a comprehensive discussion about mental health without bringing in Joe Biden:

Former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy called the gala the “World Series of Mental Health,” adding in his introduction of Biden, “I just brought in Big Papi!”

Biden paused several times during his address to point out how mittens are under-rated, among other things:

Update:

This kind of dismissiveness is maddening.
