“Substantially” true, according David Axelrod, who is substantially a liar:

“The fact of the matter is, the president went out and said, I think he said what he believed to be the fact and what was substantially was the fact, because 90, whatever, 95, 96, 97 percent of Americans are in the position where they can keep the insurance they have and they’re going to see no changes,” Axelrod explained to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Monday night.

“Whatever” — where have we heard that before?

There are at least a couple million “exceptions” to the “if you like your plan you can keep it” promise. At what point does that guarantee stop being “substantially” true?

More:

Axelrod also blasted Mitt Romney for his comments on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, accusing Obama of lying to the American people about their health care.

“The campaign’s a year old,” Axelrod said. “Get over it.”

They should write “get over it” on all the cancellation notices that are being sent out.

The required post-Axelrod ritual is now in order.
