Obama says 100 million have enrolled in Obamacare while Biden angles to pin blame for the disaster on God

I’m traveling today, and normally these might be worth two separate posts to leave suitable space for mockery of each, but due to time constraints and the unpredictable nature of this free airport wi-fi, I’ll plop them into one post.
First off, President Obama had a call yesterday to discuss why HealthCare.gov was rolled out with square wheels and broken axles. Fittingly enough, the call was glitch-plagued.
During the call, Obama padded the numbers just a tad:
‘I just wanted to take a few minutes to speak to everybody because you guys are the ones who are in the trenches, day-in, day-out,’ Obama said, complaining of ‘misinformation’ that has circulated about his health insurance overhaul law.
But ‘problems with the website … have created and fed a lot of this misinformation,’ he admitted.
Boasting of his administration’s skill in encouraging taxpayers to buy health insurance policies through public marketplaces, he claimed that ‘in the first month alone, we’ve seen more than 100 million Americans already successfully enroll in the new insurance plans.’
That number is att odds with reality, but Obama didn’t skip a beat or make any effort to correct himself, and his next comments did little to clear up the mistake.
It’s likely Obama meant to initially take credit for 100,000 success stories, rather than 100 million. But his mangling of the statistics put him off-track by a factor of 1,000.
Obama spoke for 12 minutes and would have gone longer but he was afraid somebody might get an insurance cancellation notice during the conference call.
And then there’s Joe Biden, who appears to be angling to pin the blame on God:
After the stop at the port, Biden returned to Ellington Field. Before departure, he spoke with local volunteers working to help people sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
“The truth is, we’re going to fix it,” he said of healthcare.gov. “God willing,” he added later.
Forget about secularism, they’ve got signature legislation to save!
It’s true that God answers all prayers — and it’s also true that sometimes the answer is “no.” Sorry Joe.
