Dianne Feinstein runs interference for Hillary: Benghazi report blames State Dept., not Secretary of State

Early applicants for a Cabinet post in 2017 include California Sen. Dianne Feinstein:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein is strongly defending former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from criticism in the wake of a Senate report that condemned the State Department for not averting a preventable attack on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
“Statements on the Senate floor this morning and some media reports about the Senate Intelligence Committee’s bipartisan report on the attack against our diplomatic mission and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, intimate that the report assigns culpability to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the tragedy,” Feinstein said.

She added: “The report approved on a bipartisan basis says no such thing. As a matter of fact, Secretary Clinton is not mentioned a single time in the 58-page bipartisan section of our Benghazi report.”

That of course leads to the obvious question:

If the Secretary of State isn’t responsible for the State Department why is there a Secretary of State?
