Bill O’Reilly’s interview with President Obama had a “Scooby Doo ending” element to it: “If it weren’t for that meddling Fox News…”

From Deadline.com:

The duo sparred almost from the beginning in the interview live from the White House this afternoon. Obama also took on Fox News Channel when O’Reilly asked him about reports the IRS was investigating Tea Party-related groups for political reasons. “These kind of things keep resurfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them,” Obama said. “When you look there have been multiple hearings.” Obama denied any corruption, just some “boneheaded decisions.”

Back to “phony scandals.”

Would Obama have been as cavalier about it if the IRS had been targeting OFA supporters? Eric Holder would have perp-walked the entire agency by now.

Obama also said there was “not even a smidgen of corruption” in the IRS’s admitted targeting of Tea Party groups.

Does a former IRS official invoking the Fifth and refusing to answer questions from Congress and then riding off into the taxpayer-supported sunset provide even a hint of a smidgen? Only if Fox News reports it, apparently.

Also in this video, at about the four minute mark, O’Reilly asked Obama if Leon Panetta told him that Benghazi was a terrorist attack when it happened (just before speaking with Obama about the attack, Panetta had been told it was). You’ll notice Obama never did answer the question (h/t Weasel Zippers):
