Fast forward to today’s address from President Obama, via the AP:

So that must mean Obama’s going to call for tax cuts, right (pause for laughter)? Nah, it’s just that with all those hours getting slashed because of Obamacare regs greedy owners, the minimum wage needs to rise to make up the difference.

Obama also said the government needs to step in and force the private sector to do what they’re already doing, or something:

President Barack Obama says he’s hearing from business owners across the country who are voluntarily paying their workers more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.

In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says those actions show that change comes to Washington, not from it.

Congressional Republicans are resisting Obama’s pleas to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour.

I always get a kick out of the insinuation that if an employer pays more than minimum wage, it’s out of sheer benevolence. Even though benevolence has little to do with how wages are actually set, Dems have to pretend that to be the case or they’ll give themselves a self-inflicted wound in the class war.
