Girl Scouts USA CEO Anna Maria Chávez and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg have started a campaign to rid the world of the word “bossy” — ban it, more specifically. Apparently the word stops girls from seeking leadership roles or something.

Sheryl Sandberg is a billionaire, so just think how far she could have risen if nobody would have used the word “bossy” when she was coming up.

Naturally, Michelle Obama is on board the “ban ‘bossy'” bandwagon:

Just so we’re aware President Obama also believes there’s no place for the word “bossy” in modern, civilized discourse, the White House re-tweeted:

    null

This past December, Michelle Obama spoke with kids at the Children’s Medical Center. Here’s a partial transcript:

    null

Three months ago that word was seemingly innocuous, but my how times have changed.

In general, I don’t understand how letting kids see that banning words they don’t like constitutes “leadership” training will teach them to lead anything other than their very own division of the speech police, but maybe that’s the whole idea (and that all comes off as a little bossy if you ask me).

    Bonus bossiness here.
