Ellen Degeneres earns comedian stripes during Obama interview: ‘Everyone very grateful’ for Obamacare

The HHS claims that five million people have signed up for Obamacare, though they won’t say how many of those were booted from previous plans because of Obamacare or how many have actually paid (those aren’t important enough “data points”). Using a conservative estimate from the AP, around the same number of people had their plans canceled because of Obamacare by the end of 2013.

In other words, it’s wildly successful, according to Ellen Degeneres during an interview with President Obama yesterday:

DEGENERES: It’s doing very, very well…you’ve got 5 million people signed up so far. [Applause] An enormous number of people have signed up, so it’s successful….Well, for people who are starting to applaud here, I think everyone’s very grateful that you did this. And I think it is important for people to sign up. It’s just better to be covered. You just never know.

Right now Kim Jong-un’s showing that interview to the person in charge of NK state television and saying “that’s how it’s done!”

Hey, who isn’t extremely grateful after they’ve been told a bunch of massive lies? By “everyone” I think Ellen’s referring to the people who managed to squeeze their way into her Oscars selfie.
