Contradict-a-palooza: ‘Not My Boss’s Business’ goal to make it every boss’s business

The Supreme Court is hearing the Hobby Lobby case today:

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments Tuesday in two related cases challenging the Department of Health and Human Services’ directive ordering employers to offer health insurance policies that include certain contraceptives.

The case is unlikely to take a wrecking ball to the 2010 Affordable Care Act, whose individual health insurance mandate was upheld as constitutional by the court in June 2012. But it may have broad non-health ramifications.

At hand are the constitutional rights of corporations and the right of religious businessowners to exempt their companies from federal regulations.

In Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. – the better-known case – the Southern Baptist owners of a 602-store arts and crafts chain say certain emergency contraceptives and intrauterine devices run afoul of their religious beliefs because they may result in the destruction of human embryos.

Those protesting Hobby Lobby are using the most contradictory slogan possible: “Not My Boss’s Business,” all while demanding that paying for birth control (abortifacient drugs to be more specific) be nothing short of the boss’s business. Sandra Fluke agrees.

A more accurate slogan would be “Just shut up and pay for it.”

Try demanding that any of the above people pay for something you want and see if they’d agree it was none of their business. Only in the abstract realm of liberal logic is something none of the concern of the people being forced to pay for it.

Does Obamacare require your boss to supply Dramamine? Because the contradiction is dizzying.

In closing, no more calls please, because we have our “entrepreneurship advice of the year” winner:
