Covered California, in the least surprising move since John Kerry’s latest red line retreat, has extended their deadline for Obamacare enrollment:

It won’t be shocking if that stretches into May or beyond. There are “firm deadlines” being moved back everywhere.

Also, in case you missed it, check this out: As part of a settlement with the ACLU and others, Covered California mailed 3.8 million voter registration cards to people who signed up for health insurance under the program (welcome to the actual purpose of Obamacare).

One California couple called a local TV station to say the registration card that was mailed to them already had a check mark in the “Democratic Party” box:

A local couple called 10News concerned after they received an envelope from the state’s Obamacare website, Covered California. Inside was a letter discussing voter registration and a registration card pre-marked with an “x” in the box next to Democratic Party.

The couple – who did not want their identity revealed – received the letter and voter registration card from their health insurance provider Covered California, the state-run agency that implements President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

California just barely averted a crisis. If that box had instead come pre-checked “Republican Party” the U.S. Justice Department would probably have had tanks rolling into the Golden State within hours.
