Benghazi amnesia: Would the IRS accept ‘dude, that was two years ago’ as a response during a tax audit?

The issue of the Benghazi attack was given a punk-ish dismissal Thursday by the Obama administration’s former National Security Council spokesman, Tommy Vietor.
On Fox News with Bret Baier (just call him “dude” from now on), Vietor acted like a campus senior being questioned by the Dean about a hazing incident that occurred his sophomore year:
Baier pressed Vietor on his role in changing the talking points by adding a line about the administration warning the day before the attacks of “social media reports calling for demonstrations,” in order to bolster the false idea that the attack was the spontaneous result of a riot against the video. Vietor affirmed this, but when Baier asked him if he’d changed “attacks” to “demonstrations,” he got amnesia.
“Dude, this was like two years ago,” Vietor said. “We’re still talking about the most mundane process.”
“Dude,” Baier sarcastically shot back, “it is the thing that everybody is talking about.”
But I’ll bet he could tell you what color shirt he was wearing the night Obama won the 2008 election.
The Free Beacon also points out that the Benghazi attack wasn’t “like two years ago,” but less than 20 months ago.
“Dude, that was two years ago” wouldn’t be an acceptable response during a tax audit, let alone to inquiries about an attack that killed four Americans.
Solid question here:
@RichardGrenell @BuzzFeedAndrew If things from just 2 years ago are no longer relevant, why does Obama still talk so much about Bush?
