On Sunday, former Obama adviser David Plouffe pushed the current White House strategy on Benghazi, which is to make it sound as if those who think there’s more to the story than they’re being told are just a handful of wingnuts:

There was “no conspiracy” behind the White House’s decision not to release an internal email related to Benghazi until this week, but a “very loud, delusional minority” is driving the Republican Party to politicize the issue, former Obama White House senior adviser David Plouffe said today.

From Rasmussen, more about that “delusional minority”:

null

Those numbers naturally mostly fall along party lines, but even still, to refer to at least half the country as a “delusional minority” is… delusional. Maybe Plouffe is analyzing the numbers using Common Core math. But of course we’re talking about a claim from somebody living in a world where “if you like your plan you can keep it” wasn’t really a lie — and besides, it was for your own good.

Also, only 32 percent of likely voters are buying the administration’s “it was the video before it wasn’t and it’s Romney’s fault anyway and besides dude that was like two years ago ever-evolving explanations.

Additionally:

“Seventy-two percent continue to believe that it is important to find out exactly what happened in the Benghazi matter, with 46 percent who say it is ‘Very Important.’ Twenty-five percent consider more information about the Benghazi case unimportant, up from 19 percent in January, but that includes just 7 percent who say it is ‘Not At All Important,’” said Rasmussen.

If Plouffe wants to see a “delusional minority” he should gather together Carney and the rest to take a “selfie” at one of Trey Gowdy’s upcoming select House committee hearings.
