The Democrats have decided to participate on the select House committee to investigate Benghazi:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced five Democratic appointees to the Select Committee on Benghazi on Wednesday afternoon.

The Democratic appointees are Reps. Elijah Cummings (Md.), Adam Smith (Wash.), Adam Schiff (Calif.), Linda Sanchez (Calif.) and Tammy Duckworth (Ill.).

Schiff in particular has called the Benghazi select committee a “colossal waste of time,” so with that kind of impartiality going in we know the Dems will really be a big help in getting to the bottom of this.

Pelosi reminded participating Dems that she’s called a stonewalling practice session to begin at 7 p.m. this evening, with two-a-days up until the hearings begins.

Rep. Steny Hoyer actually said this of Dems deciding to participate on the committee: “We shouldn’t leave the playing field without having our people there.”

Oh man.
