A few days ago, President Obama sparked a level of panic among the Democrat congressional ranks not seen since Harry Reid misplaced the bag of caraway seeds he wears around his neck to ward off evil Koch brother spirits on the Senate floor.

What was the source of frayed Democrat nerves? Obama told the truth about something — specifically with this reminder that the upcoming midterm election is as much about his policies as it is about the views of congressional candidates:

Reaction from Democrats on the ballot next month who have supported Obama’s policies in the past was fairly subdued:

In Kansas, Sen. Pat Roberts is already running with it:

David Axelrod, who helped Obama push through those policies that are on the ballot, said today that it was unwise of Obama to tell the truth:

David Axelrod, a former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, admitted Sunday morning that it was a blunder by his former boss to say he may not be “on the ballot this fall, but make no mistake, these policies are on the ballot.”

“I would not have put that line in there,” Axelrod said. “It was a mistake.”

A disappointed Axelrod expected a little more less from 2013’s “Lie of the Year” winner.
