A health care worker who was involved in treating Ebola patient Thomas Duncan has tested positive for the virus in Dallas:

If the preliminary diagnosis is confirmed, it would be the first known case of the disease being contracted or transmitted in the U.S.

Meanwhile, a top federal health official said the health care worker’s Ebola diagnosis shows there was a clear breach of safety protocol and all those who treated Thomas Eric Duncan are now considered to be potentially exposed.

Dr. Daniel Varga, of the Texas Health Resources, said during a news conference Sunday that the worker wore a gown, gloves, mask and shield while they provided care to Duncan during his second visit to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Varga did not identify the worker and says the family of the worker has “requested total privacy.”

Another historic first!

This morning, John McCain said this situation calls for immediate czar creation:

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday called for President Obama to nominate an “Ebola czar” to coordinate the administration’s response to the deadly virus.

“I’d like to know who’s in charge,” McCain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

The senator’s appearance followed news from Dallas early Sunday that a second Ebola patient had been identified – a healthcare worker who treated Thomas Eric Duncan, the first U.S. Ebola patient who died last week.

McCain said his constituents in Arizona are “not comforted” and “need more reassurance.”

The senator said the administration should also “look at” airports in West Africa as well as those in the United States.

“Americans have to be assured here,” McCain added.

Because the Transparency Czar, Car Czar, Border Czar, Government Performance Czar, Stimulus Accountability Czar, et al have been such rousing successes?

Meanwhile, the Fundraising Czar returned and briefly donned his Photo Op Czar cap:

At the last second, the Fundraising Czar remembered that the Photo Op Czar should make an appearance before the Golf Czar started his day — but the Photo Op Czar forgot to take off the Golf Czar’s jacket first:

Golf Czar was then officially on the job:

Never let it be said he can’t multitask.
