Farewell, Majority Leader Harry Reid

The Republicans won control of the U.S. Senate on Tuesday. There’s no reason to gloat though — Harry Reid has enough problems, what with being insane and all. Right now he’s probably repeatedly stabbing a throw pillow labeled “Koch Industries” with a butter knife. Just let that play out.

Reid said the wave that swept him from the Majority Leader’s office was just voters declaring it a tie between Republicans and Democrats:

In other words:

Nice try, Harry.

If Reid needs help moving furniture out of the Majority Leader’s office, in the spirit of bipartisanship, I’ll be happy to help.

Also, the GOP will gain at least a dozen seats in the House, surpassing a record number set in 1946.

No reaction from the White House on the big GOP wins tonight. They might be busy drafting executive orders so it doesn’t really matter anyway.

Also, watch for another sudden change in Reid’s view of Senate filibusters.

Meanwhile, here’s what’s happening right now at DNC headquarters.
