“To the anti-greenhouse gas rally!

Climate change is naturally among the pressing issues being discussed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week:

Emerging threats to humanity will be on the agenda when the world’s political and business leaders meet in Davos, Switzerland, this week.

The 45th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum aims to find solutions for global risks – including environmental challenges and those posed by new technologies.
[…]
“Past warnings of potential environmental catastrophes have begun to be borne out,” the report concludes, criticising failures to adapt to climate change and tackle the growing demand for limited freshwater resources.
[…]
The meeting begins in Davos tomorrow, just days after we learned that 2014 was globally the hottest year on record. Failure to adapt to climate change came fifth on the WEF report’s list of risks ranked by their potential impact on humankind.

Among items on the agenda are 1) addressing the “income inequality” that is seeing more of the world’s wealth transferring to the wealthiest one percent, and 2) proposing “solutions” to global warming that would speed up the process of agenda item #1.

How can the planet be saved from such a fossil fueled fate? The threat to humanity is so great that hypocrisy is the new global patriotism:

Yeah, that’s right…

Al Gore-iffic! It’s probably safe to round that number up to 2,000.

From Newsweek:

Billionaires, world leaders and pop stars are clogging up the skies with their private jets as they descend on the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to liaise over issues such as terrorism, the central banks and growing economic inequality.

Over the course of this week, approximately 1,700 private jets are expected to fly into the region, resulting airport traffic increasing by 10% which means that landing spots are in short supply.

The Swiss Armed Forces have even opened up one of their military air bases for the first time to try and accommodate the increase in traffic. For private jet companies like PrivateFly, Netkets and VistaJet, this is by far their busiest time of year.

And yet the jet-set global warming doom-and-gloom alarmists actually wonder why they’re being taken less serious by the day.

Update:

I’m guessing two of those jets are accounted for just in this tweet:
