Hillary trots out a new scapegoat for email shadiness: Global warming

Note: The insinuation made in Hillary’s statement is Al Gore approved!

Hillary Clinton’s campaign took issue with a New York Times story mentioning a potential DOJ criminal probe of her sneaky email and server antics, and Hillary made this statement today:

“Maybe the heat is getting to everybody,” Clinton said before remarks on the economy in New York City. “We all have a responsibility to get this right.”

“We are all accountable to the American people to get the facts right and I will do my part, but I’m also going to stay focused on the issues, particularly the big issues that really matter to American families,” she added.

Yet another item to add to the “caused by global warming” list. Just the other day Hillary was “chillin” and now everybody’s in the throes of heatstroke. Because it’s so hot, rumor has it that Hillary’s still operational homebrew server is being kept hidden in a Chappaqua grocery store walk-in beer cooler behind six cases of Busch Light.

Speaking of the NYT story in question, Hillary can feel lucky because she apparently has Wikipedia-esque “edit this story” capability for Times articles her campaign’s not entirely happy with:

The New York Times made small but significant changes to an exclusive report about a potential criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s State Department email account late Thursday night, but provided no notification of or explanation for of the changes.

The paper initially reported that two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation “into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state.”

That clause, which cast Clinton as the target of the potential criminal probe, was later changed: the inspectors general now were asking for an inquiry “into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state.”

The Times also changed the headline of the story, from “Criminal Inquiry Sought in Hillary Clinton’s Use of Email” to “Criminal Inquiry Is Sought in Clinton Email Account,” reflecting a similar recasting of Clinton’s possible role. The article’s URL was also changed to reflect the new headline.

Until the election, Hillary and the NYT will be known respectively as “Jump” and “How High?”
