In yesterday’s speech to Congress, Pope Francis said the “Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend human life at every stage of its development.” Some members of Congress who have positive NARAL ratings golf-clapped, because they consider their contribution to defending the unborn to be “I refuse to watch the Planned Parenthood videos.”

Margaret Sanger Award-winning Planned Parenthood cheerleader Nancy Pelosi totally agrees with the pope on the sanctity of life at every stage of its development, except when she doesn’t:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) praised Pope Francis’ Thursday speech to Congress, but said the line about the sanctity of life that brought the whole chamber to its feet was open to interpretation.

“We all support the sanctity of life,” Pelosi told MSNBC after the address. “We all rose up and applauded what he had to say there. But again, in terms of interpretation, how you hear it, how you respect it, you respect your own values in that regard. I think he left plenty of room for people to respect other people’s opinions.”

The pope might have gotten more libs to pay attention if he’d have replaced “Golden Rule” with “climate change,” which is what the Dems really came to hear.

I’ll bet Pelosi a $100 gift card to Serenity MedSpa in Frisco that she doesn’t think there’s nearly as much room to “respect other people’s opinions” when it comes to the pope’s views about global warming as opposed to his “open to interpretation” position on abortion.
