Jeb Bush saves campaign money by serving double duty as own ‘APPLAUSE’ sign

Jeb! Bush got less than three percent of the caucus vote in Iowa, but in New Hampshire he’s polling at around ten percent, and he wasn’t about to let an audience of people sitting on their hands slow the momentum:

Yet there are signs Mr. Bush may still have some work to do. Speaking at the Hanover Inn near the Vermont border on Tuesday, Mr. Bush finished a fiery riff about protecting the country — “I won’t be out here blow-harding, talking a big game without backing it up,” he said — and was met with total silence.

“Please clap,” he said, sounding defeated.

The crowd laughed — and then, finally, clapped.

Great moments in New Hampshire primary campaign history:

Team Jeb is probably now having a furious discussion about the necessity of adding a couple more exclamation points to the logo along with an extra instruction.
